The women's 3 metre synchronized springboard competition of the diving events at the 2011 Pan American Games was held on October 29 at the Scotiabank Aquatics Center. [1] The defending Pan American Games champion were Paola Espinosa and Laura Sánchez of Mexico.

Diving competitions at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara were held from October 26 to October 29, at the Scotiabank Aquatics Center. The winner of each individual event earned their NOC a quota spot to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Great Britain.

2011 Pan American Games 16th edition of the Pan American Games

The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from October 14–30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Some events were held in the nearby cities of Ciudad Guzmán, Puerto Vallarta, Lagos de Moreno and Tapalpa. It was the largest multi-sport event of 2011, with approximately 6,000 athletes from 42 nations participating in 36 sports. Both the Pan American and Parapan American Games were organized by the Guadalajara 2011 Organizing Committee (COPAG). The 2011 Pan American Games were the third Pan American Games hosted by Mexico and the first held in the state of Jalisco. Previously, Mexico hosted the 1955 Pan American Games and the 1975 Pan American Games, both in Mexico City. The 2011 Parapan American Games were held 20 days after the Pan American Games have ended.

Scotiabank Aquatics Center

The Scotiabank Aquatics Center is an aquatics center built for the 2011 Pan American Games in the municipality of Zapopan, near Guadalajara, Mexico. It was opened June 22, 2011, built at a cost of $USD31.7m. It is the most modern aquatic complex of its kind in Latin America, and considered to be the second best in the world by the Fédération Internationale de Natation. It has a permanent capacity 3,593, but will have a capacity of 5,000 spectators for the Pan American Games.

Jennifer Abel is a Canadian diver. She is currently partnered with Mélissa Citrini-Beaulieu for synchronized diving. She won an Olympic bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics in the 3 m synchro diving event with Émilie Heymans. Abel is the two time Commonwealth Games champion in the 1 m springboard, in 2010 and 2014; she is also the 2015 Pan American Games champion in the 3 m springboard. Her medals at the FINA World Championships, four silver and four bronze, are tied with Alexander Despatie for most medals by a Canadian in diving at the world championships.

Diving competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 10 to 13 at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre. Due to naming rights the arena were known as the latter for the duration of the games. Due to Pan American Games being scheduled to be held roughly around the same time as the 2015 World Aquatics Championships scheduled for Kazan, Russia, the diving begin on the day of the opening ceremony.
