Brazil competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. Brazilian athletes won twelve medals: six silver and six bronze, in the first Summer Olympics edition without a gold medal since the 1976 Summer Olympics. The 205 competitors, 111 men and 94 women, took part in 96 events in 23 sports.
The 15th Pan-American Games were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between 13 July 2007 and 29 July 2007. The Brazilian delegation consisted of 659 athletes and 267 directors, making a total of 926 people in 41 sports. Competing in their own country, the Brazilian athletes managed to far surpass their own record number of Gold, Silver and Bronze medals obtained in a single edition of the Pan-American Games.
Brazil sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, in August 2008. Brazilian athletes have competed in every Summer Olympic Games since 1920, except the 1928 Summer Olympics. The country is represented by the Brazilian Olympic Committee. Brazil headed to the Beijing Games with its largest Olympic delegation at the time, 277 athletes, including 132 women.
Canada, which is represented by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), has competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. The Canadian team was made up of 492 athletes, the most ever for a non-home Games. On the team all ten provinces and the Northwest Territories are represented. Some sports such as wrestling have sent their strongest team, however sports which offer the most medals have sent for the most part a developmental team. Table Tennis player Anqi Luo was Canada's youngest athlete at the Games while Equestrian athlete Ian Millar was Canada's eldest athlete competing in Guadalajara. Canada has competed in 35 out of the 36 sports on the program. On October 4, 2011, women's football star Christine Sinclair was selected to carry the flag during the opening ceremony. The chef de mission was Jacques Cardyn and the assistant chef de mission was Curt Harnett.

Ecuador will compete at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. Ecuador's team will consist of 170 athletes in 27 sports.
Trinidad and Tobago will compete at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. Trinidad and Tobago will send 78 athletes in 14 sports.
The women's association football tournament at the 2011 Pan American Games was held in Guadalajara, Mexico at the Estadio Omnilife from October 18 to October 27. Associations affiliated with FIFA that qualified were invited to send their full women's national teams.
The men's association football tournament at the 2011 Pan American Games was held in Guadalajara, Mexico at the Estadio Omnilife from 19 to 28 October 2011. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their men's U-22 national teams, with 3 no-age-limit players per team allowed. Ecuador were the defending champions from the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, defeating Jamaica 2–1, but they were eliminated during the group stage.
Uruguay competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. Uruguay sent 113 athletes in over sports.
Venezuela competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. Venezuela's flag bearer was selected by an online vote by the general public. Venezuela competed with 388 athletes in 31 sports.
Puerto Rico competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. Puerto Rico sent 250 athletes in 30 sports. It was the most successful Panamerican games for Puerto Rico, going from a maximum of three gold medals to winning six in these games.
Peru competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011, sending 139 athletes in 22 sports.
Brazil competed in the 2015 Pan American Games in Hamilton, Canada from July 10 to 26, 2015. The Brazilian Olympic Committee selected a team of 590 athletes, 314 men and 276 women. This is the 17th appearance of the country in the Pan American Games. The goal of the Brazilian Olympic Committee is to finish among top 3 countries on total medals, as part of preparations for the 2016 Summer Olympics, in Rio de Janeiro, and to surpass the number of medals of Guadalajara (141). Women's field hockey, baseball, racquetball and speed skating competitions will be the only sports without Brazilian representation at these games.
Brazil participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 6 October to 18 October 2018. The Brazilian Olympic Committee selected a team of 79 athletes in 24 sports.
