The 2007 CONCACAF Champions' Cup was the 42nd edition of the annual international club football competition held in the CONCACAF region, the CONCACAF Champions' Cup. It determined that year's club champion of association football in the CONCACAF region. The tournament also served as a qualifying event for the 2007 FIFA Club World Cup.
The CONCACAF final round of the CONCACAF zone of the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualification, was contested between the six remaining teams of the qualification process. The teams were placed into a single group, with matches played against each other on a home-and-away basis. The top three teams would qualify for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Costa Rica topped the group with 23 points, and finished with the best record of any CONCACAF team in the history of the hexagonal.
In the third round of CONCACAF, the 12 winners of the second round were divided in 3 groups of 4 teams each. Teams in each group would play against each other home-and-away, and the two teams with most points in each group would advance to the fourth round.
A total of 16 CONCACAF teams entered the competition, but FIFA rejected the entry of Belize due to outstanding debt.
The 2004 CONCACAF Men's Pre-Olympic Tournament was the eleventh edition of the CONCACAF Pre-Olympic Tournament, the quadrennial, international, age-restricted football tournament organised by CONCACAF to determine which men's under-23 national teams from the North, Central America and Caribbean region qualify for the Olympic football tournament. It was held in Mexico, from 2 and 12 February 2004.
Canada, which is represented by the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC), has competed at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. The Canadian team was made up of 492 athletes, the most ever for a non-home Games. On the team all ten provinces and the Northwest Territories are represented. Some sports such as wrestling have sent their strongest team, however sports which offer the most medals have sent for the most part a developmental team. Table Tennis player Anqi Luo was Canada's youngest athlete at the Games while Equestrian athlete Ian Millar was Canada's eldest athlete competing in Guadalajara. Canada has competed in 35 out of the 36 sports on the program. On October 4, 2011, women's football star Christine Sinclair was selected to carry the flag during the opening ceremony. The chef de mission was Jacques Cardyn and the assistant chef de mission was Curt Harnett.

Ecuador were the defending champions from the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, defeating Jamaica 2–1, but they were eliminated during the group stage.
