Guilherme Giovannoni (born June 2, 1980) is a Brazilian former professional basketball player. He played at the power forward position for several clubs in Brazil and Europe. Currently, he is a commentator on the National Basketball Association and Novo Basquete Brasil for ESPN Brasil.

Professional career

During his pro career, Giovannoni has played with UniCEUB/BRB and several other clubs in the top-tier level Brazilian League. [1]

National team career

Giovannoni has competed with the senior men's Brazilian national basketball team, at the 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014 FIBA World Cups. He was also a part of the Brazilian teams at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The NBB All-Star Game is an annual game involving the All-Star players of each season of the Novo Basquete Brasil, which is the top-tier level Brazilian professional club basketball league. The players are chosen by votes on the Internet, and are then divided into two teams. The criterion for the selection of the teams has varied during the years. In the first edition of the NBB All-Star Game, the teams were divided into team Ubiratan, with light jerseys, and formed by the best players of each position; and team Rosa Branca, with dark jerseys, and formed by the second top players in each position. In the second edition, they were chosen by votes on the Internet, and divided into team Pedroca and team Kanela. In the third and fourth editions, the teams were selected in the same way, but formed into team NBB Brasil, formed by the best Brazilian players of the season, and team NBB Mundo, formed by the best foreign players of the season.

Associação de Basquete Cearense or simply Basquete Cearense is a Brazilian professional basketball team that is based in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. The club plays in the Brazilian top-tier level Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). The team was founded in 2012, and since then has played in all editions of the NBB, reaching the playoffs three times.

The 2010–11 NBB season was the third season of Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. It started on October 29, 2010, and was disputed by fourteen teams playing each other in round and runoff in the regular season. The NBB serves as a qualifying competition for international tournaments such as FIBA Americas League, Liga Sudamericana and Torneo InterLigas. As in the second edition, in the third edition of NBB, also named NBB 3, At the end of the regular season the first four teams qualify for the quarterfinals of the playoffs automatically now the team who finish between 5° and 12° positions will participate in the first round of the playoffs o define the other four teams in the quarterfinals.

2011–2012 NBB season was the fourth season of Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. This tournament is organized entirely by the participating clubs. The NBB serves as a qualifying competition for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and Torneo InterLigas. For this season the qualify for the FIBA Americas League came to be through the Liga Sudamericana.
