Reyshawn Antonio Terry Sr. (born April 7, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player. [1] He played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Terry played on the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team and helped Carolina win the 2005 NCAA Championship as a sophomore. As a junior in 2005–06, Terry averaged a career high 14.3 points per game. [2]
Terry graduated from UNC in May 2007 with a B.A. in African-American studies.
Terry was drafted in the second round, 44th overall, by the Orlando Magic in the 2007 NBA draft. He was traded on draft day by the Magic to the Mavericks for the rights to the 60th overall pick, Milovan Raković, and cash. [3]
On August 26, 2007, he agreed to a contract with Aris BC of Greece's A1 league. [4] In the summer of 2008, Terry played in the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league for the Dallas Mavericks, and then shortly after joined Italian club Virtus Bologna for the upcoming season. [5] With Bologna, Terry reached the quarterfinals of the FIBA Euro Challenge.[ citation needed ]
In the 2009-10 Terry played for Xacobeo Blu:Sens, which was promoted to the Spanish ACB for the 2009–10 season, after having spent years in the second division LEB.[ citation needed ]
Terry played for the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA Summer League in 2010. [6]
In August 2010 he signed with German Club Brose Baskets. [4] For the following season, he signed with BC Khimik in Ukraine. [7] The 2012–13 season he played for Champville SC in Lebanon.[ citation needed ]
In September 2013, he signed a one-year deal with Le Mans. [8]
In October 2014, he signed with Tadamon Zouk of Lebanon. [9] In March 2015, he left Tadamon and signed with Maratonistas de Coamo of Puerto Rico. [10] In May 2015, he signed with Trotamundos de Carabobo of Venezuela for the rest of the 2015 LPB season. [11] In June 2015, he signed with the Cañeros de La Romana of Dominican Republic for the 2015 LNB season.
On November 8, 2016, Terry signed with Japanese B.League club Ryukyu Golden Kings for the 2016–17 season. [12]
On September 8, 2017, Terry signed with the Ulsan Mobis Phoebus of the Korean Basketball League. [13]
On April 18, 2018, Terry signed with Piratas de Quebradillas of the Puerto Rican BSN. [14] On August 28, 2018, Terry was named the BSN Most Valuable Player for the 2018 season. [15]
The Baloncesto Superior Nacional, abbreviated as BSN, is the first-tier-level professional men's basketball league in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1929 and is organized by the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation.
The Piratas de Quebradillas is a Puerto Rican basketball team, part of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), the top flight of Puerto Rico basketball. Founded in the mid 1920s, it is one of the original teams of the league. The club enjoyed its most successful era during the 1970s, when they won four championships, including a three-peat, and participated in six league finals. However, after the 2004 season, the team suffered from financial problems, which prevented them from participating in the following five seasons. The club returned to active competition in 2009 with new players and a new arena, as well as a trip to the league finals. After a 34 years hiatus, in 2013 they won the BSN championship, defeating the Leones de Ponce in a six game series.
Peter John Ramos Fuentes, nicknamed as Mr. Beast, is a Puerto Rican former professional basketball player and professional wrestler. He is the sixth athlete from Puerto Rico to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the third drafted, gathering success in the NBA Development League (NBDL), where he was an All Star during the 2006–07 season. Ramos has also played in Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was a member of the Puerto Rico national basketball team from 2004 to 2016, making his Olympic debut in the game where Puerto Rico defeated the United States at Athens.
