Pétur Karl Guðmundsson is an Icelandic former professional basketball player and coach. Standing 2.18 m (7'2"), weighing 118 kg (260 lb) and playing the center position, Pétur was the first Icelander and one of the first European players ever to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Often described as the greatest Icelandic basketball player of all time, he was named the Icelandic Basketball Player of the 20th century by the Icelandic Basketball Association in 2001, and in 2015, he was inducted in to the National Olympic and Sports Association of Iceland Hall of Fame. Pétur was also a member of the Icelandic national basketball team from 1978 to 1992 but missed several years of competition due to FIBA rules banning professional players from playing for national teams.
Jón Arnór Stefánsson is an Icelandic basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic national team. One of Iceland's most successful athletes of the early 21st century, he was the Icelandic Sportsperson of the Year in 2014 and a 12-time Icelandic Male Basketball Player of the Year. Elvin Mims is an American professional basketball player who last played for the London Lightning of the NBL Canada. Frank Alonzo Booker is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Bowling Green State University and was drafted by the New Jersey Nets in the 1987 NBA draft. He gained considerable fame in Iceland as a high scoring guard in the Úrvalsdeild karla during the early 1990s. He was a three-time scoring champion in the Úrvalsdeild and four time All-Star. In 1992, he led Valur to the Úrvalsdeild finals and in 1995 he won the Icelandic Basketball Cup with Grindavík.
Jón Axel Guðmundsson is an Icelandic professional basketball player for CB Lucentum Alicante of the Spanish LEB Oro. He played college basketball for the Davidson Wildcats. He won two national championships with Grindavík in 2012 and 2013 and the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2014.
Dagur Kár Jónsson is an Icelandic former basketball player. A 185 cm point guard, he won the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2013 and 2015 as a member of Stjarnan. In 2019, he debuted for the Icelandic national team.
Antonio Kurtis Hester is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Terrafirma Dyip of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). In 2014, he won the Peruvian championship with Real Club de Lima and in 2018, he won the Icelandic Basketball Cup with Tindastóll. Earnest Lewis Clinch Jr. is an American former professional basketball player. He won the Icelandic Basketball Cup with Grindavík in 2014 en led the team to the Úrvalsdeild finals in 2014 and 2017, where it lost to KR both times.
Unnur Tara Jónsdóttir is an Icelandic basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic women's national basketball team. During her career, she has won the Icelandic championship three times and was named the 2010 Úrvalsdeild Playoffs MVP.
Daníel Guðni Guðmundsson is an Icelandic basketball coach and a former player. During his playing career, he won the Icelandic Basketball Cup in 2014, and the Icelandic Super Cup three times, in 2004, 2006 and 2013.
