World Aquatics, formerly known as FINA, is the international federation recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for administering international competitions in water sports. It is one of several international federations which administer a given sport or discipline for both the IOC and the international community. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The 2007 World Aquatics Championships, or the XII FINA World Championships, were held in Melbourne, Australia from 17 March to 1 April 2007. The competition took place at three locations in central Melbourne: the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, St Kilda Beach, and Rod Laver Arena in a temporary pool christened the Susie O'Neill Pool.
Thomas Robert Daley is an English retired diver, YouTuber and television personality. He is an Olympic champion in the men's synchronised 10-metre platform event at the 2020 Olympics and double world champion in the FINA 10-metre platform event, winning in 2009 at the age of fifteen, and again in 2017. He is an Olympic bronze medallist in the 2012 platform event, the 2016 synchronised event, and the 2020 platform event. He won the silver medal in the men's synchronised 10-metre at the 2024 Olympics, making him the first British diver to win 5 Olympic medals. Daley also competed in team events, winning the inaugural mixed team World title in 2015, and repeating the win in 2024, his fourth World title in all. He is an Olympic champion, four-time World Champion, a two-time junior World Champion, a five-time European champion and four-time Commonwealth champion.

Diving competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 10 to 13 at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre. Due to naming rights the arena were known as the latter for the duration of the games. Due to Pan American Games being scheduled to be held roughly around the same time as the 2015 World Aquatics Championships scheduled for Kazan, Russia, the diving begin on the day of the opening ceremony. A total of eight diving events were held: four each for men and women.

Quan Hongchan is a Chinese diver, national champion, and Olympic champion. At the 2020 Summer Olympics, she won the gold medal in the individual 10 metre platform event. At the 2024 Summer Olympics, Quan won the gold medal in the individual 10 metre platform event and, alongside teammate Chen Yuxi, also won gold in the 10 metre synchronized platform.
Diving competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile are scheduled to take place from October 26 to 30, 2023 at the Aquatics Centre. It will be one of four aquatic sports at the Games, along with swimming and artistic swimming.

The competition at these Games comprised a total of 136 divers coming from their respective NOCs; each could enter a maximum of two divers per gender in the individual events and a gender-based pair in the synchronized events, respecting a sixteen-member country limit. To be eligible for the Games, all divers must have been 14 years old or older on or before December 31, 2023; and must have participated in various international meets approved by World Aquatics.
