Live & Rare is the first live album and the first compilation of material by the American rap metal band Rage Against the Machine, released only in Japan on June 30, 1998 by Sony Music Japan and only available overseas as an import. It comprises "official bootlegs" previously available on other singles as well as a pair of tracks from the band's 1991 demo.
Blackstar was a British hard rock band, formed as a retooling of the band Carcass in 1995 without Bill Steer along with former Cathedral guitarist Mark Griffiths. The band name comes from a Carcass song off the Swansong 1996 album. Thus far they have released only a single album. After a while the band was forced to change its name to Blackstar Rising. The band dissolved because Ken Owen suffered from a brain haemorrhage.
MCA continued the series of definitive masters of the Jimi Hendrix catalogue in 2000, releasing the self-titled box set The Jimi Hendrix Experience, consisting of four discs. The material includes alternative recordings, live performances and some rarities. Although most of the material had been released in earlier compilations, some previously unreleased material was also included.

Revelations is a 1988 album by McCoy Tyner released on the Blue Note label. It was Tyner's first solo piano album since Echoes of a Friend (1972) and first Blue Note recording since Asante (1970). It was recorded in October 1988 and features thirteen solo performances by Tyner recorded at Merkin Hall. The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow states that "This is a rather special project from one of the finest jazz pianists of the past 35 years".
Of Course, Of Course is the second album by jazz saxophonist Charles Lloyd released on the Columbia label featuring performances by Lloyd with Gábor Szabó, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams. The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow and Thom Jurek awarded the album 4 stars and states "Whether on tenor or flute, Lloyd was quickly coming into his own as an original voice, and this underrated set is a minor classic".

Ellington Uptown is an album by American pianist, composer and bandleader Duke Ellington recorded for the Columbia label in 1951 & 1952. The album was re-released on CD in 2004 with additional tracks recorded in 1947 and originally released as the Liberian Suite EP.
Grass Roots is a studio album by American jazz pianist Andrew Hill featuring performances recorded in 1968 and released on the Blue Note label. The original album features Hill's quintet performing five original compositions and the 2000 CD reissue added three alternate takes and two additional compositions recorded by a sextet at an earlier session as bonus tracks.
Cool Blues is a live album by American jazz organist Jimmy Smith featuring performances recorded at Small's Paradise in New York City in 1958 but not released on the Blue Note label until 1980. The album was rereleased on CD with three bonus tracks recorded at the same performance.
