"Don't Cry / I Love to Party" is a double A-sided single released by Belgian singer/songwriter Kaye Styles and Australian born Irish singer/songwriter Johnny Logan. The songs are re-working of Logan's two winning Eurovision Song Contest songs, "Hold Me Now" and "What's Another Year". The single was released in July 2006 and included on Styles' album It Iz What It Iz.

Background and release

In 2006, Kaye Styles entered Eurosong '06, which was the Belgian national final for choosing the Belgian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, with the song "Profile". The song placed 6th in the final. During the final, two-time winner Johnny Logan was part of the professional jury awarding points. Following the final, the pair collaborated with Style re-working Logan's "Hold Me Now" as "Don't Cry" and "What's Another Year" as "I Love to Party". The single was released as a double-A sided single, and video clips were produced for both songs.

Kate Ryan

Kate Ryan is a Belgian singer and songwriter, and the winner of a World Music Award. She began her singing career in 2001 and later found fame with a string of dance hits. These included covers, mostly of Mylène Farmer and France Gall, such as "Désenchantée", "Libertine", and "Ella, elle l'a", and Desireless' "Voyage Voyage", as well as new material. Ryan represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with "Je t'adore" coming in 12th place in the semi-final.

Belgium participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens, Greece. The Belgian entry was selected through a national selection, Eurosong '06, organised by the Belgian broadcaster Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroeporganisatie (VRT). Kate Ryan represented Belgium with the song "Je t'adore", which failed to qualify from the competition's semi-final, placing 12th and scoring 69 points.

Ireland’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was "Every Song Is a Cry for Love" by Brian Kennedy. The song is a ballad in the traditional Irish style.

Hold Me Now (Johnny Logan song)

"Hold Me Now" is a song composed and performed by Irish singer Johnny Logan. It became the winner of the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest. Logan had previously won with "What's Another Year?" in the 1980 Contest and would go on to write the winner of the 1992 Contest. The song is usually sung by Bohemians at home matches in Dalymount Park.

"Je t'adore" was the Belgian entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, performed in English by Kate Ryan. "Je t'adore" was released in 2006 as the lead single from Ryan's third studio album Alive (2006).

Whats Another Year

"What's Another Year" was Johnny Logan's first Eurovision Song Contest winner, achieving success in the 1980 edition of the Contest. This was Ireland's second Contest victory. Composed by Shay Healy, the song reached number one in the UK Singles Chart for two weeks in May.

Ireland was represented by Johnny Logan with the song "Hold Me Now" in the 1987 Eurovision Song Contest in Brussels.

Robin Stjernberg

Robin James Olof Stjernberg is a Swedish pop singer. He represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 on home soil on 18 May 2013 with the song "You". Stjernberg started his career in the boyband What's Up!, and became a contestant in Idol 2011, placing as first runner up in the final. He participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2017 as the songwriter for the song "I Can't Go On" performed by Robin Bengtsson, which ended up in fifth place.

Believe in Me (Bonnie Tyler song)

"Believe in Me" is a song by Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler from her sixteenth studio album Rocks and Honey (2013). American songwriter Desmond Child composed the song with British songwriters Lauren Christy and Christopher Braide. It was released as the album's lead single on 13 March 2013. The song was written to "uplift the world", and was completed by Child whilst having dinner with Tyler.

In London is the debut studio album by Australian-born Irish singer and composer Johnny Logan. In 1979, Readers of the Connaught Telegraph in Ireland voted Johnny Logan as Best New Male Artist. The album was released a year before he went on to win the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest. Following that, "In London/Sad Little Women" was released internationally and charted in Germany and Belgium.

James Richard Newman is an English singer-songwriter based in London. At the 2014 Brit Awards, Newman won the Brit Award for British Single of the Year as a co-writer of "Waiting All Night", a song by English drum and bass band Rudimental. Newman was chosen to represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song, "My Last Breath" before its cancellation. Newman will instead represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with a song that is yet to be revealed.
