Bang Rak is one of the 50 districts (khet) of Bangkok, Thailand. The district is bounded by four other districts : Pathum Wan, Sathon, Khlong San, and Samphanthawong. It was established in 1912. As of 2017, Bang Rak's population was 47,817.

Dusit Zoo or popularly known as Khao Din Wana (เขาดินวนา) and Khao Din (เขาดิน) was a zoo in Bangkok, Thailand. Located at Khao Din Park in Bangkok's Dusit District next to the Parliament House and Dusit Palace, it was the oldest zoo in Thailand, built by King Chulalongkorn as his private garden adjacent to the royal palace. After the king's death, the garden was left unattended for years.
Dusit Thani was a miniature city and micronation project created by King Vajiravudh of Siam (Thailand) in Dusit Palace in the 1910s–1920s. The project explored aspects of democracy, as members of the court were to be "citizens" owning property in the model city. Elections were held, a constitution written, and two newspapers regularly published for the fictional country. Although critics have dismissed the project as nothing more than the king playing with dollhouses, others regard it as the first trial of a constitutional government in Thailand.
