The Easo Choir is a Spanish choir founded in 1940 in San Sebastian as a choral group for lower-range male voices, to spread the knowledge of Basque popular music, has attained prestige in its interpretation of a wide range of choral song.

After sixty years of uninterrupted activity - yet always within its ¨amateur¨ status - the group is well consolidated and much involved with its continuing musical and choral formation.

Career

Its career began by taking part in important international contests such as Llangolem (Britain), Lille (France) and twice in Arezzo (Italy), being awarded the first prize in all of them. Thanks to this initial success, it has been given several awards so far.

It has been invited to theatres all over the world: Teatro Real in Madrid, Palau in Barcelona, Herkulessaal in Munich, Pleyel in Paris, Palais Royal in Mónaco, Théâtre Royal in Brussels, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Palacio de Bellas Artes in México, Bartlesville's Auditorium (USA), Berlin's Philharmonie, Alexandrinsky Theatre and Hermitage in St. Petersburg.

The choir has worked with these orchestras: Spain's National, French's National, London's Philarmonic, Portugal's Gulbenkian, Bordeaux's Philharmonic, Radio Televisión Española, Paris's Opera, Toulouse Capitole Orchestra, I Solisti in New York, Galicia's Symphonic, Euskadi's Symphonic.

It has performed with soloists such as Aldo Baldin, Christa Ludwig, Thomas Moser, Rockwell Blake, William Matteuzzi, Elena Prokina, Aquiles Machado, Alexandru Agache, Simone Alaimo, Martine Dupuy, Albert Dohmen, Eva Johanson, Galina Gorbachova, Andreas Schimdt, Wolfgang Schmidt, Dolora Zajick.

It has been conducted by Igor Stravinsky, Serge Baudo, Sylvain Cambreling, Marek Janowski, Kurt Wöss, Bruno Campanella, Ransom Wilson, David Parry, Leopold Hager, Jesús López-Cobos, Josep Pons, Arturo Tamayo, Juan Jose Mena, Victor Pablo Perez, Günter Neuhold, Tugan Sokhiev.

Alessandro Siciliani

Siciliani was born in Florence, Italy, the son of Ambra and Francesco Siciliani, the celebrated opera impresario. Siciliani currently resides in Columbus, Ohio, where he was the music director of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra from 1992 to 2004.

RTÉ Performing Groups

RTÉ Performing Groups is a group of five classical ensembles, part of the Irish broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). All but the Vanbrugh Quartet are based in Dublin.

Marco Balderi is an Italian orchestra conductor who began his career after winning the International Competitions of Salzburg and Alexandria. He toured Austria, China, Korea, France, Germany, Japan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Spain and Switzerland. He is known for acclaimed productions of Madama Butterfly at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, and at the Opéra Bastille in Paris in January 2006, as well as Georges Bizet's The Pearl Fishers in New Delhi. Balderi has studied numerous symphonic works, including all the symphonies of Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Mozart and Schumann, and over 200 operas, forty of which he has conducted. He has also studied 650 sacred and profane vocal works.

Alfonso Maribona

Alfonso Maribona is an orchestra conductor, pianist, composer and arranger. Maribona was born in Bilbao, and finished his piano and chamber music qualifications at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, at the same time winning First Prize at the End of Postgraduate Course by a unanimous decision. In 1982 he obtained Second Prize at the National Piano Competition, then in 1985 he was awarded First Prize at the same competition. In 1991 he won First Prize at the "Ciudad de Manresa" National Chamber Music Competition, and in the same year, by a unanimous jury verdict, he gained First Prize at the National Chamber Music Competition of Spain.

Alla Sheiko

Sheiko Alla is choirmaster of The Boys and Youth Choir of the P. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine and artistic director and Head of the Practice Sector of the National Music Academy of Ukraine. Born in Poltava. Graduated from the choral-conducting Faculty and post- training of the choral-conducting department of the Kiev Tchaikovsky Conservatory. She taught at the Poltava M. Lysenko Music College, R. Glier Kyiv Music College, P. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. She is an author of articles about the history of foreign choral music.

Maîtrise de Radio France

Maîtrise de Radio France is the choir school of Radio France. The school and its choir were founded in 1946 by the composer Henry Barraud and the pedagogue Maurice David. Its first Director was Marcel Couraud. As a performing ensemble the Maîtrise choir has appeared on numerous recordings and in live concert performances, with a particular emphasis on choral works by French composers. It is one of the four permanent ensembles of Radio France along with the Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre national de France and Chœur de Radio France.
