FIBA Europe is the administrative body for basketball in Europe, within the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), which includes all 50 national European basketball federations.
The Australia women's national basketball team, nicknamed the Opals after the brightly coloured gemstone common to the country, represents Australia in international basketball. From 1994 onwards, the Opals have been consistently competitive and successful having won nine medals at official FIBA international tournaments, highlighted by a gold medal winning performance at the 2006 World Championship in Brazil. At the now-defunct regional Oceania Championship for Women, the Opals won 15 titles. In 2017, FIBA combined its Oceanian and Asian zones for official senior competitions; following this change, the Opals compete in the FIBA Women's Asia Cup.
FIBA Americas is a zone within FIBA. It is one of FIBA's five continental confederations. FIBA Americas is responsible for the organization and governance of the major international tournaments in the Americas. It has 44 FIBA Federations and is headquartered in Miami, Florida. The current FIBA Americas President is Carol Callan of the United States.
The Paraguay national basketball team is the team governed by the Paraguayan Basketball Federation that represents Paraguay in the men's international basketball competitions organized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The USA Basketball Women's National Team, commonly known as Team USA, is governed by USA Basketball and competes in FIBA Americas. The team is by far the most successful in international women's basketball, having won 10 out of the 12 Olympic tournaments it has entered. It has also won 9 of the last 12 World Cups, and 11 titles overall. The team is currently ranked first in the FIBA World Rankings.

Ecuador national basketball team is the national men's basketball team from Ecuador who played in the 1950 FIBA World Championship where they came eighth.
The Russia women's national basketball team is administered by the Russian Basketball Federation. The team has participated in four FIBA Women's World Cups and their best finish has been a silver medal in 1998, 2002 and 2006. In European Women Basketball Championship the Russian team won gold medals in 2003, 2007 and 2011, silver medals in 2001, 2005 and 2009, and bronze in 1995 and 1999. They have participated in five Olympic Games, winning two bronze medals.
The Dominican Republic national basketball team represents the Dominican Republic in men's international basketball competitions. In 2011 and 2012, John Calipari, the head coach of the University of Arkansas men's basketball team, served as the head coach of the team. The team placed third in the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship and fourth in the 2012 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, one position shy of qualifying for the 2012 Olympics.
Chinese Taipei women's national basketball team is a national women's basketball team of Taiwan. Taiwan uses the name "Chinese Taipei" due to political relations with People's Republic of China.
The International Basketball Federation is an association of national organizations which governs the sport of basketball worldwide. FIBA defines the rules of basketball, specifies the equipment and facilities required, organizes international competitions, regulates the transfer of athletes across countries, and controls the appointment of international referees. A total of 212 national federations are members, organized since 1989 into five zones: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.
