Edwin Bowman is a former Democratic member of the West Virginia Senate,representing the 1st District from 1994 to 2010.
John Davison "Jay" Rockefeller IV is a retired American politician who served as a United States Senator from West Virginia (1985–2015). He was first elected to the Senate in 1984, while in office as Governor of West Virginia (1977–85). Rockefeller moved to Emmons, West Virginia, to serve as a VISTA worker in 1964 and was first elected to public office as a member of the West Virginia House of Delegates (1966-1968). Rockefeller was later elected Secretary of State of West Virginia (1968-1973) and was president of West Virginia Wesleyan College (1973–1975). He became the state's senior U.S. Senator when the long-serving Senator Robert Byrd died in June 2010.
Joseph Manchin III is an American politician and businessman serving as the senior United States senator from West Virginia, a seat he has held since 2010. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the 34th governor of West Virginia from 2005 to 2010 and the 27th secretary of state of West Virginia from 2001 to 2005.

William Edwin Chilton was a United States Senator from West Virginia. Born in Colesmouth, Virginia, he attended public and private schools and graduated from Shelton College in St. Albans. He taught school, studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1880, commencing practice in Charleston, West Virginia in 1882. He also engaged in the newspaper publishing business, and was prosecuting attorney of Kanawha County in 1883. In 1892 he was chairman of the Democratic State executive committee and was Secretary of State of West Virginia from 1893 to 1897.

Edwin B. Erickson III was an American politician. He served multiple terms on the Council of Delaware County, Pennsylvania, including 2 years as the chairman. He was later elected to the Pennsylvania Senate, representing the 26th District from 2001 to 2015. The district included most of Delaware County and parts of Chester County. From 1989 to 1992, Erickson served as a regional administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for Region III, which encompassed several states in the Mid-Atlantic region.
