Efteløt is a small village in Kongsberg municipality, Buskerud, Norway.

Kongsberg is a town and municipality in Buskerud county, Norway. Kongsberg is the administration center in Kongsberg municipality. The city is located on the river Numedalslågen at the entrance to the valley of Numedal. The municipality of Kongsberg was established on 1 January 1838. The rural municipalities of Ytre Sandsvær and Øvre Sandsvær were merged into the municipality of Kongsberg on 1 January 1964.

Efteløt is the location of Efteløt school (Efteløt skole) and Efteløt church (Efteløt kirke). Efteløt church was first constructed in Romanesque style from approx 1184. It is stone church with walls of natural stone up to 1 meter thick. It was rebuilt in 1876 into a more Gothic style. The church was restored in 1953. The church is in the Kongsberg Joint Parish Council and the Tunsberg diocese. [1] [2] [3]

Håkon Christie Norwegian architect and art historian

Håkon Andreas Christie was a Norwegian architectural historian, antiquarian and author. Together with his wife, Sigrid Marie Christie he worked from 1950 on the history of Norwegian church architecture, particularly stave churches.
