Eino Kettunen (May 13, 1894 - August 15, 1964) was a Finnish composer and lyricist. He is the author of the polka song Ievan polkka, which achieved viral popularity as an Internet meme in 2006-2007.

Häme is one of the 13 electoral districts of the Parliament of Finland, the national legislature of Finland. The district was established as Häme Province South in 1907 when the Diet of Finland was replaced by the Parliament of Finland. It was renamed Häme in 1997. It is conterminous with the regions of Kanta-Häme and Päijät-Häme. The district currently elects 14 of the 200 members of the Parliament of Finland using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2023 parliamentary election it had 310,047 registered electors.
Loituma Girl is a Flash animation set to a scat singing section of the Finnish song "Ievan polkka," sung by the Finnish quartet Loituma on their 1995 debut album Things of Beauty. It appeared on the Internet in late April 2006 and quickly became popular. The animation consists of four frames showing the Bleach anime character Orihime Inoue twirling a leek, set to a 27-second loop from the song. The part of the song which is included in the meme is improvisation by Hanni-Mari Autere which are totally random.
"Ievan polkka" is a Finnish song with lyrics printed in 1928 and written by Eino Kettunen to a traditional Finnish polka tune. The song is sung in an Eastern Savonian dialect spoken in North Karelia. It is sung from the point of view of a young man, about a woman called Ieva who sneaks out and dances the polka with him all night. The song is often mistaken for a traditional folk song, but the lyrics by Eino Kettunen are still under copyright. Later, a scat singing version of the song by the band Loituma was incorporated into the viral animation Loituma Girl. In 2007, the song was brought into worldwide popular culture through a cover sung by Hatsune Miku, with Otomania arranging the music and providing Miku's voice manipulation.
Sääksmäki is a village and a former municipality, currently part of Valkeakoski in the Pirkanmaa region of Western Finland. A past president of Finland, Pehr Evind Svinhufvud, the Finnish film producer and director Veikko Aaltonen, eminent Finnish historian Eino Jutikkala, and actress Pirkko Mannola, were born there.
Aikakone is a Finnish pop music group active from 1995 to 1998 and shortly in 2001 and 2003 as Aika. In 2003, they changed their name back to Aikakone and have since been active on and off.
Säkkijärven polkka is a well-known folk tune from Finland that is very popular with Finnish accordionists. It was especially popularized by Viljo "Vili" Vesterinen (1907–1961). The tune was first recorded in Säkkijärvi, and the lyrics sometimes sung with the tune, stating that while Säkkijärvi itself might have been lost, the Finns at least still had the polkka. Most famous and historical is the recording made on June 17, 1939 with former members of the Dallapé Orchestra. The recording took place in the ballroom of the German school in Helsinki. The recording became not only the savior of Viipuri, but also the most famous performance of all time of the Säkkijärvi polkka.
The Keskiniemi beacon tower, often referred to as the Karvo beacon tower, is a historic daymark located on a promontory of Keskiniemi in the northwestern part of Hailuoto island in the Gulf of Bothnia in Finland. The tower was built in 1858 to alert the vessels about sandbars reaching northwest from the site. It is the oldest surviving navigational aid on Hailuoto island. The tower has structural similarities with the Härkmeri beacon tower built in 1857.
Eino Kaarlo Ilmari Jutikkala, until 1931 Rinne, was a Finnish historian, and professor of history at the University of Helsinki from 1950 to 1974. He had an exceptionally long and prolific career, and is considered one of the most important Finnish historians of the 20th century.

Battle of Antrea was a Finnish Civil War battle, fought in Antrea and Jääski, Finland in 11 February – 25 April 1918 between the Finnish Whites against the Finnish Reds.
The Kiiskilä Manor is a historic estate located in the former Viipuri rural municipality, situated on the western shores of the Viipuri Bay, in the Kiiskilä village, approximately 10 km southwest of Viipuri. The manor's name derives from the Kiiskijoki river, which flows through its lands. The Kiiskilä Manor is one of the few surviving estates of the Viipuri surroundings, along with Monrepos. Its history dates back to the 1560s, and it has changed hands several times over the centuries.
