The story writer was Rajvansh, while screenplay and dialogues were by K. B. Pathak. The lyricists were Verma Malik, Omkar Verma and Abhilash. Vinod Mehra was cast in the main role as Vikram. Mehra had started his career in Roop K. Shorey's Ek Thi Reeta (1971) and became an established star following Anuraag (1973); Raftaar was noted as one of his prominent films in the 1970s. The cast included Moushumi Chatterjee, Danny Denzongpa, Madan Puri, Ranjeet, Arpana Chowdhary and Jankidas.
Diya Aur Toofan is a 1995 Indian Hindi-language science fiction action film directed by K. Bapaiah, starring Mithun Chakraborty, Madhoo, Suresh Oberoi, Mohnish Bahl and Kader Khan. This film was released on 27 October 1995 under the banner of BMB Combines. This film is a remake of the 1979 Kannada film Seetharamu.

Ek Thi Larki is a 1949 Hindi action comedy film by director Roop K. Shorey. It had the famous Punjabi song "Laara Lappa Laara Lappa Layi Rakhda" by Lata Mangeshkar, Satish Batra and Mohammad Rafi. The music director was Vinod, with lyrics by Aziz Kashmiri and story by I. S. Johar. The film starred Meena Shorey who became famously known as the "Larra Lappa" girl following the release of the film, and Motilal. Other co-stars were Bharat Bhushan, I. S. Johar, Agha, Shakuntala, and Kuldip Kaur.
Manorama was an Indian character actress in Bollywood known best for her role as the comical tyrant aunt in Seeta Aur Geeta (1972) and in films such as Ek Phool Do Maali (1969) and Do Kaliyaan (1968). She started her career as a child artiste in 1936 in Lahore, under the name Baby Iris. The original owed its "popularity" more to the music of the film, especially the song "Larra Lappa" composed by music director Vinod.

Meena Shorey was a Pakistani film actress who worked first in Indian cinema and later Pakistani cinema. She appeared in Hindi/Urdu and Punjabi films. Credited in films by her mononym, Meena, her real name was Khurshid Jehan. She started her acting career playing a character role, as Ambhi, Raja of Taxila's sister in Sohrab Modi's Sikandar (1941). Married to her third husband, Roop K. Shorey, by the mid-1940s, she found fame when she acted in her husband's film Ek Thi Larki (1949), opposite actor Motilal. The story was written by I. S. Johar, who also starred in the film. The "foot-tapping" music composed by Vinod became a "huge hit", with Meena becoming an "icon" for the "new liberated" young women. Meena was acclaimed as the "Lara Lappa Girl", from the song of same title in the film. She was one of the first women to be recognised in Indian cinema as a "comedienne of calibre". She was also popularly known as The Droll Queen of Partition as she worked in both in India and Pakistan.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age romantic comedy-drama film directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar. The screenplay was written by Dhar and Gazal Dhaliwal, with the story inspired by the 1919 novel A Damsel in Distress by P. G. Wodehouse. It stars Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, and Juhi Chawla, and features Abhishek Duhan, Madhumalti Kapoor, Seema Pahwa, Brijendra Kala, Alka Kaushal and Kanwaljit Singh in supporting roles. Akshay Oberoi and Regina Cassandra make special appearances in the film. The film tells the story of Sweety Chaudhary, a closeted lesbian, and her attempts to come out to her conservative and traditional Punjabi family.
Yashodhara Katju was a Bollywood actress who was the Second Kashmiri Girl after Shyama Zutshi who joined films in 1941. She was born in 1928 in Allahabad.
