Elizabeth Robyn Harvey (born 19 October 1946) is an Australian politician. She was an Australian Labor Party member of the Australian House of Representatives from 1987 to 1990.
Harvey was born in Adelaide on 19 October 1946. She completed a diploma in secondary teaching at Adelaide Teachers College and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Adelaide. [1]
Harvey won the south Adelaide seat of Hawker as the Labor candidate at the 1987 federal election. Harvey was defeated for the same seat by Liberal Chris Gallus at the 1990 federal election by an extremely narrow 14 votes. [2]
Elizabeth has since worked as a ministerial staffer,public servant,teacher and writer. She has published on a blog her novel,Snowflake's Hope,a fictionalised account of her experiences as a Federal MP. [3]

The Division is named after Sir John Hindmarsh,who was Governor of South Australia from 1836 to 1838. The 78 km²seat extends from the coast in the west to South Road in the east,covering the suburbs of Ascot Park,Brooklyn Park,Edwardstown,Fulham,Glenelg,Grange,Henley Beach,Kidman Park,Kurralta Park,Morphettville,Plympton,Richmond,Semaphore Park,Torrensville,West Beach and West Lakes. The Adelaide International Airport is centrally located in the electorate,making noise pollution a prominent local issue,besides the aged care needs of the relatively elderly population −the seat has one of Australia's highest proportions of citizens over the age of 65. Progressive boundary redistributions over many decades transformed Hindmarsh from a safe Labor seat in to a marginal seat often won by the government of the day.
