Elysa Ayala (1879–1956) was an Ecuadorian writer and painter.
Elysa Ayala was the first woman in Ecuador to write stories about the issues of montubios, poor and simple peasants from the Ecuadorian coast, in her writings, which went far beyond the customs of her time. Despite the sexist and conservative atmosphere in Ecuador during that period, Elysa's early work appeared in magazines of Argentina (Pink Clouds and Revista Argentina), Chile (Events and El Nacional), Uruguay (Forward), Cuba (Hero and Cosmos), United States (America) and Spain (Valencia Voice).

José Francisco Cevallos Villavicencio is an Ecuadorian retired football goalkeeper, former Minister of Sports in Ecuador and former President of Barcelona, the football club where he started his professional career. Nicknamed Las Manos del Ecuador, Cevallos is considered by many to be the greatest goalkeeper in the history of Ecuadorian football. He has won three national titles with Guayaquil based club Barcelona, with whom he has spent the majority of his professional career. As the goalkeeper for LDU Quito, he was a key figure in the team's 2008 Copa Libertadores title, where he saved three penalties in the deciding penalty shoot-out. That same year, he was voted as the Best Goalkeeper in South America by Montevideo based newspaper El País. As a member of the national team, he has participated in four Copa Américas and Ecuador's first World Cup participation. Having represented his national team 89 times, he is the highest capped goalkeeper in the history of the team.
Jorge Carrera Andrade was an Ecuadorian poet, historian, author, and diplomat during the 20th century. He was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1902. He died in 1978. During his life and after his death he has been recognized with Jorge Luis Borges, Vicente Huidobro, Gabriela Mistral, Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz and Cesar Vallejo as one of the most important Latin American poets of the twentieth century.

Juan de Velasco y Pérez Petroche (1727–1792) was an 18th-century Jesuit priest, historian, and professor of philosophy and theology from the Royal Audience of Quito. He was born in Riobamba to Juan de Velasco y López de Moncayo and to María Pérez Petroche. Among the universities where he taught was the Universidad de San Marcos in Lima in the Viceroyalty of Peru. He is best known for his history book Historia del Reino de Quito, although he also wrote books in fields other than history, such as physics textbooks and poetry anthologies.

The book was edited by the Ecuadorian writer Jorge Luis Cáceres. These books entitled “No entren al 1408” and “King, tributo al rey del terror”, have three editions: Ecuador, 2013; Mexico, 2014 and Argentina, 2015, and are written by 30 writers from: Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay and Spain.

Luz Argentina Chiriboga is an Afro-Ecuadorian writer who was one of the first writers to address the duality African and Hispanic cultures. In her poetry and novels, she writes about women in ways that challenge preconceived stereotypes. Her short story "El Cristo de la mirada baja" won first prize in 1986 in the International Literary Contest of the Liberator General San Martín held in Buenos Aires.
