The Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON) is the approved dispute resolution scheme for all electricity and gas customers in New South Wales, Australia, and some water customers.
EWON is an industry-based ombudsman scheme, which means it is funded by its members. As with other Ombudsmen in Australia and around the world, EWON's service is free for consumers.
EWON models and evaluates its service against the six industry-standard benchmarks for complaint-handling agencies:
In line with the benchmarks, EWON's decision-making process is independent. EWON is not a consumer advocate and does not represent industry. EWON works towards a fair and reasonable outcome for the parties involved in a dispute.
Janine Young was appointed the Energy and Water Ombudsman for NSW in November 2014. [1] She was formerly the Public Transport Ombudsman (Victoria) and the Deputy Ombudsman at the Energy and Water Ombudsman Victoria (EWOV).

Banking Ombudsman is a quasi judicial authority fu2006, and the authority was created pursuant to a decision made by the Government of India to enable resolution of complaints of customers of banks relating to certain services rendered by the banks. The Banking Ombudsman Scheme was first introduced in India in 1995, and was revised in 2002. The current scheme became operative from 1 January 2006, and replaced and superseded the banking Ombudsman Scheme 2002. Presently the Banking Ombudsman Scheme 2006 is in operation.
The Pensions Ombudsman is the official ombudsman institution responsible for investigating complaints regarding pensions in the United Kingdom. The Pensions Ombudsman is a non-departmental public body stewarded by the Department of Work and Pensions, and the Ombudsman and Deputy Ombudsman are appointed by the Minister for Work and Pensions. The Ombudsman is an independent commissioner; he and his staff are not civil servants. His brief is to resolve disputes of fact or law and to investigate claims of maladministration. Unusually for UK Ombudsmen, the Pensions Ombudsman's determinations are binding on the parties and enforceable in the County Court. There is a right of appeal to the High Court on a point of law. In England the High Court's permission has to be obtained for an appeal.
The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal of New South Wales (IPART) is an independent regulatory and pricing tribunal that oversees regulation in water, gas, electricity and transport industries in the Australian state of New South Wales. IPART was established in 1992 by Government of New South Wales with the primary purpose of regulating the maximum prices for monopoly services by government utilities and other monopoly businesses such as public transport.
Jackgreen Energy was an Australian electricity retailer. In 2007 Jackgreen purchased Easy Being Green, a carbon offset program. Jackgreen was suspended from the National Electricity Market on 18 December 2009 by the independent market operator. As laws differ between states just one process, or policy, cannot be used across the Commonwealth. All government bodies are within the jurisdiction of the ombudsman.

Colin Robert McKenzie Neave is an Australian business executive. He was the Australian Commonwealth Ombudsman from 2012 to 2017. He is President of the Administrative Review Council and Chairman of the Commonwealth Consumer Affairs Advisory Council. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in June 2005 for service to public administration and to the banking and finance industry, particularly through dispute resolution.
