Eric Swinderman (born July 8, 1976) is an American writer, director, and producer. He was the writer and director of the independent dark comedy The Enormity of Life starring former The Walking Dead star Emily Kinney, Breckin Meyer of Clueless fame and Giselle Eisenberg ( The Wolf of Wall Street , Life in Pieces ).
Swinderman was born in Dover, Ohio, and grew up in New Philadelphia, Ohio. A graduate of Cleveland State University's School of Communication, he studied film and television production.
Swinderman's first big break came while working on the set of the film Dreaming on Christmas (2005), starring Danny Trejo and Nick Mancuso.
In 2007, he wrote and directed the short film Clean, about a man of god dealing with his inner demons. The film received positive reviews and was awarded Best Picture at the Cleveland Grindhouse Film Festival.
He followed up by writing and directing The Anniversary, an award-winning short film which won the Cleveland Plain Dealer's 2009 Scary Film Competition. The film was screened at the Cleveland Truly Independent Film Festival and stars Deanna Cechowski and Thom Cechowski.
In 2012, Swinderman produced Made in Cleveland , an anthology of 11 short films by multiple different Cleveland directors. It stars Busy Philipps and Gillian Jacobs. The film opened in limited theatrical release to wide critical acclaim.
In 2018, Swinderman wrote and directed the independent film The Enormity of Life, starring Breckin Meyer and Emily Kinney. It was an official selection in the 2019 Beverly Hills Film Festival. The film features music from Avett Brothers and Kodaline, and is currently represented by Shoreline Entertainment in Los Angeles.
Breckin Meyer is an American actor, writer, and producer. He is best known for his roles in films such as Clueless (1995), The Craft (1996), Road Trip (2000), Rat Race (2001), and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009). He played Jon Arbuckle in the live-action Garfield movies. He also voiced teen Joseph Gribble in King of the Hill (2000–2010) and starred as Jared Franklin in Franklin & Bash (2011–2014). His work on the stop-motion animated sketch show Robot Chicken has earned him two Annie Awards and five Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
Emily Irene VanCamp is a Canadian actress. She first came to prominence for her work with producer Greg Berlanti, who cast her as a series regular on The WB drama Everwood (2002–2006) and the ABC drama Brothers & Sisters (2007–2010). The show earned fair enough ratings to get picked up for a whole season, but it was cancelled at the end of the season.

The film was written, directed, produced largely by people with connections to Cleveland, and it stars a cast and crew consisting predominantly of current or former Clevelanders, including Shaker Heights native Jamie Babbit and Cleveland natives Eric Swinderman and Robert C. Banks, Jr. The film stars an ensemble cast, among them Busy Philipps, Gillian Jacobs, George Roth, Jeffrey Grover, Robin Swoboda, Leon Bibb, Brendan Potter, Derek Koger, Linda Ryan, Robbie Barnes, Charlie Martini, and others. Made in Cleveland premiered June 13, 2013 at the historic Atlas Cinemas Lakeshore 7 theater in Euclid, Ohio. It opened June 21 in five Atlas Cinemas theaters in Ohio, and was well reviewed in the local press. Made in Cleveland will be released by its distributor, Striped Entertainment, in additional select cities in the United States in Summer 2013.
