The Nobility of Italy comprises individuals and their families of the Italian peninsula, and the islands linked with it, recognized by sovereigns, such as the Holy Roman Emperor, the Holy See, the Kings of Italy, and certain other Italian kings and sovereigns, as members of a class of persons officially enjoying hereditary privileges which distinguished them from other persons and families. They often held lands as fiefs and were sometimes endowed with hereditary titles or nobiliary particles. From the Middle Ages until 1871, "Italy" was not a single country but was a number of separate kingdoms and other states, with many reigning dynasties. These were often related through marriage to each other and to other European royal families.

Consolini was the son of Adriano Giuseppe Gaetano Consolini, of the marquises of Consolini, and Teresa Tonello. He was also the nephew of Cardinal Domenico Consolini. Consolini was born in Brazil his father having moved there from Terni, Italy in 1898 due to the persecutions against ecclesiastical nobles after the Italian unification.

Domenico Antonio Luigi Pacifico Nicola Baldassare Consolini was an Italian bishop and cardinal, who served as a diplomat of the Holy See.

Monte Verde archaeological site in southern Chile, located near Puerto Montt, which has been dated to as early as 18,500 BP (16,500 B.C.)

Monte Verde is an archaeological site in southern Chile, located near Puerto Montt, Southern Chile, which has been dated to as early as 18,500 cal BP. Previously, the widely accepted date for early occupation at Monte Verde was ~14,500 years cal BP. This dating added to the evidence showing that the human settlement of the Americas pre-dates the Clovis culture by roughly 1000 years. This contradicts the previously accepted "Clovis first" model which holds that settlement of the Americas began after 13,500 cal BP. The Monte Verde findings were initially dismissed by most of the scientific community, but the evidence then became more accepted in archaeological circles.

Military history of Italy during World War II

The participation of Italy in the Second World War was characterized by a complex framework of ideology, politics, and diplomacy, while its military actions were often heavily influenced by external factors. Italy joined the war as one of the Axis Powers in 1940, as the French surrendered, with a plan to concentrate Italian forces on a major offensive against the British Empire in Africa and the Middle East, while expecting the collapse of the UK in the European theatre. The Italians bombed Mandatory Palestine, invaded Egypt and occupied British Somaliland with initial success. However, German and Japanese actions in 1941 led to the entry of the US and the USSR in the War, thus ruining the Italian plan and postponing indefinitely the objective of forcing Britain to agree to a negotiated peace settlement.

Consolini was married to Cecilia Bauer. He died in São Fidélis, Brazil on 20 April 1996 and was buried on 21 April 1996.

Manifesto of the Anti-Fascist Intellectuals

What is your opinion? Would you be willing to sign such a document, or even write it yourself?
