Expedición Robinson was the Ecuadorian version of the popular show Expedition Robinson , or Survivor as it is called in some countries. The show only ran for one season that lasted from August 28, 2003, to October 26, 2003, and was presented by Marisa Sánchez. The sixteen contestants were initially split up into two tribes, Akela and Bimbuka both named after indigenous Ecuadorian words. The first major twist of the season occurred in episode three when both tribes were forced to vote out one member of their tribe. In episode four, the show saw its first voluntary exit as Penélope Benalcázar decided to leave the competition. From episode five onwards the Akela tribe began to dominate the challenges, winning two of the three immunity challenges. When it came time for the merge, the Akela tribe quickly fell apart as five of its former members were voted out in a row. When it came time for the final four, the contestants competed in two challenges to determine who would be the final two. Both Tania Tenorio and Victor Herrera lost these challenges and were eliminated. Ultimately, it was Tito Grefa, the only member of the Akela tribe to make the final five, who won the season over Francisco Gordillo with a jury vote of 6-1.

Expedition Robinson is a Swedish reality television program in which contestants are put into survival situations, and a voting process eliminates one person each episode until a winner is determined. The format was developed in 1994 by Charlie Parsons for a United Kingdom TV production company called Planet 24, but the Swedish debut in 1997 was the first production to actually make it to television. An American version called Survivor started in 2000.

Expedition Robinson: 2005, was the ninth version of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden and it aired in 2005. The major twist this season was that the contestants were divided into tribes based on their annual salaries, with the North team being the "rich" team and the South team being the "poor" team. Another twist was that of the change in voting format, each contestants were given thirteen votes that they could use at any time and in any amount. Robert Drakwind, formerly known as Robert Andersson, returned to compete for a third time since 1999 along with his girlfriend, Anna Carin Wase. Both were "jokers" and did not enter the competition until episode 3. Both jokers became "chiefs" of one of the tribes and were given immunity at all pre-merge tribal councils, however from episode 4 on they could be challenged by any member of their tribe for the position of chief. If challenged, the chief and challenger would face off in a duel in which the winner would become chief and the loser would be eliminated from the competition. The final twist of the season was that of the "Finalist Island". Introduced in a challenge immediately preceding the merge, contestants would compete in a series of duels in which the winner would earn a spot on Finalist Island. The two contestants left on Finalist Island when only seven contestants were left would have immunity until the final four, while the remaining five contestants not on the island would have to compete for the two remaining spots. Karolina and Max were the last two contestants on Finalist Island. Ultimately, Karolina Conrad went on to win the season with a jury vote of 6-5 over Max Stjernfelt.

Expedition Robinson 2003, was the seventh version of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden and it aired in 2003. Along with the twenty four official contestants, there was a twenty fifth contestant, Hildegard Krebbs who was forced to leave the competition in its pre-production stage. As this season was initially thought to be the show's last, the major twist for season was that it was to be an "Allstars" theme in which a tribe of former contestants known as the "Veterans", would take on a team of newcomers known as the "Challengers". Another twist was added midway through the pre-merge stage of the competition, a pair twist. As part of the pair twist the contestants were grouped, competed, and voted out in pairs, however following their initial elimination the two members of the pair would compete in a duel, the winner of which would stay secluded from most of the other contestants on an island, known as "Utopia", in order to compete in a series of duels to re-enter the competition. Throughout the post-merge duration of the game, contestants, both in the game and in Utopia, would continuously swap locations based on challenge results. As a final twist eight more votes would be distributed among the two finalists based on the percent they received in a public poll. In the end, Emma Andersson won the season with a jury vote of 11-5 over Mille Lansburgh. Andersson received six of the eight public votes having garnered seventy five percent of the vote.

Expedition Robinson 2004, was the eighth season of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden and it aired starting on 13 September 2004 airing four episodes a week and was broadcast until 4 December 2004. The major twist this season was that of "Team X", a team composed of five wildcard contestants who entered the game in episode 3 to compete against the original two teams. Joker Johnny Leinonen also entered the competition in episode cycle 3 as part of the South team after buying his spot in the contest. Along with this twist, from episode 3 on any contestant voted out of either of the original teams would be sent to Team X to compete in a duel with a member of Team X. Another twist that occurred in the same episode cycle was Frida Lundell's re-entrance into the competition following the voluntary exit of Tina Dadasvand. As an unexpected twist, Frida Lundell sold her spot in the game in episode cycle 4 in exchange for a sum of money. Following the sudden ejection of newer Team X members Gabriella Kopasz and Nicholas Nath due to rule breaking, the recently eliminated Rasmus Nilsson and Maryam "Shante" Shekhanzai returned to the game. Following the initial merge of the North and South teams, the Robinson tribe competed against Team X in immunity challenges. If Team X won the challenge, then Robinson would be forced to vote out one of their members, but if Robinson won they would vote to send one of their team members to Team X. When a second merge occurred in episode cycle nine, it was revealed to the contestants that recently eliminated contestants Jerry Forsberg, Johanna Hakala, Dan Karlsson, Johnny Leinonen, Mikael Lundell, and Rasmus Nilsson had been moved to a secret location called "Calm Island", where they had been competing for two spots in the final merge tribe. Of the six competing for the two spots, only Dan Karlsson and Mikael Lundell were successful in earning spots in the Robinson tribe. At the end of the season, both the jury and the public were allowed to vote two of the eliminated contestants back into the game for the final four. The public chose Johanna, while the jury voted Jerry back into the game. In addition to this the public was allowed to allot ten jury votes among the two final contestants through the results of a public vote. Jerry Forsberg eventually won the season with a jury vote of 11-9 over Fike Najafi. Jerry received three of the public votes to Fike's seven.

The fan tribe was called "Tenga", while the Paradise tribe was called "Sembilang". There were many additional twists this season, the first taking place in episode 1 when all of the contestants were made to take part in an elimination challenge. Mirja Østergaard lost the challenge and was immediately eliminated. The next twist took place in episode 2 when Jan Novaa, who had been voted out in episode one, returned to the game. The next twist took place in episode 3 when Emil Debski swapped tribes in order to even up the tribe numbers. In episode 4 a larger tribal swap took place in which Jan Novaa, Mads Jensen, and Michelle Jensen swapped from the Sembilang tribe to the Tenga tribe and Emil Debski, Hilde Austad, Martin Persson, Chiro "Sido" Kiarie swapped from the Tenga tribe to the Sembilang tribe. The next twist came in episode 5 when jokers Laila Neilsen and Nick Zitouni entered the game with Laila joining the Sembilang tribe and Nick joining the Tenga tribe. In episode 6 an individual challenge took place in which the winner would be allowed to eliminate a player from the opposing tribe. Haider Mohamad won the challenge and chose to eliminate Sheila Nymann. Immediately following the merge in episode 7, Haider won the same type of challenge and chose to eliminate Karina Strunge from the game. The next twist came in episode 10 when contestant Hilde Austad used the "Talisman" she had to void any votes cast against her in tribal council. This led to the elimination of Laila Neilsen who had the second most votes. When it came time for the final four, the remaining contestants competed in two challenges. The winners of these challenges would earn the right to eliminate one of the losers. Emil won the first challenge and chose to eliminate Martin and Daniela won the second challenge and chose to eliminate Emil. Ultimately, it was Daniela Hansen from Paradise Hotel 2006 who won the season over Robinson fan Hilde Austad by a tiebreaking cointoss after the jury vote ended in a 4-4 tie.

The season began airing on September 5, 2005, and concluded on November 28, 2005. The major twist this season was that the tribes were initially divided up by the participants' ages. The Jong (Young) tribe was composed of the contestants age 30 and under and the Oud (Old) tribe was composed of contestants over the age of 40. Unbeknownst to the original tribes, there was a secret third tribe that consisted of two contestants, Esther Jacobs and Marnix Allegaert, who were in their 30s, who lived in an area known as "Secret Island". These two contestants were soon joined by Douwe Popma, who had been voted out immediately after a challenge. In episode 4, the two original teams were dismantled and the remaining players were mixed up into new tribes known as the North and South teams. With these new tribes, all who had previously been living on the Secret island joined one of the two new tribes in the game and Nicole Hendriks, who had been eliminated in the previous episode, re-entered the game as a replacement for the large number of contestants who had left the game. Along with the new tribes came tribal leaders, who were elected in each episode and were immune at tribal council.

This season began airing on August 28, 2006 and concluded on November 20, 2006. The major twist this season was that the tribes were initially divided up by gender with one "All-Star" contestant joining each tribe. These two All-Stars were, Klaar Lippe and Robin Ibens. Though the main twist may have seemed like a repeat of twists that occurred in previous seasons, unlike previous seasons with a similar twist this season male contestants were from Belgium and all females from the Netherlands. While the All-Star contestants weren't eligible to win, they could vote and following a tribal swap in episode 4, they could give any contestant on their tribe immunity at tribal council. Following the merge in episode 8, the twist that was "Losers Island", was introduced to the game. After a contestant was eliminated they would be sent to Losers island where they would wait until there were only two contestants left in the game at which point the six contestants on the island would vote for one of their own to return. When it came time to vote for a winner, the public, instead of a jury decided the winner. In the end, it was Olga Urashova who returned from Losers island in the final three, who won the season over Lenny Janssen with a public vote of 52% to Lenny's 48%.

Robinson Ekspeditionen 2010 was the thirteenth season of the Danish version of the Swedish show Expedition Robinson. This season premiered on September 6, 2010. The major twist this season is that the contestants have been divided into tribes with half of each tribe being "Masters" and the other half being "Slaves". The contestants individual statuses were determined in a challenge they took part in before they were divided into tribes. The twelve members of each gender competed in a challenge against each other with the five winners being the masters of their tribe and each getting to pick one of the seven challenge losers from the other tribe as their slave. Through the slave selection process four contestants, Anja Balle, Gitte Behrendt, Vincent Muir, and Hector Nielsen, were eliminated and sent to "Utopia" to compete against each other as well as future eliminated contestants in order to earn a spot back in the game. Following the elimination, the "Tenga" and "Minang" tribes were formed with the Minang tribe being composed of the female winners and their slaves and the Tenga tribe of the male winners and their slaves. In episode 2, a tribal swap took place in which most of the contestants swapped tribes. In episode 3, no elimination took place due to Ali Ghiace's voluntary exit. Also in episode 3, it was revealed that, like last year, there is a mole competing in the game. With this news came that of the mole being the only person eligible to vote for two people at the third tribal council. In episode 5, both tribes competed in an elimination competition which would lead to players from each tribe being eliminated. Ultimately, it Maiken Andersen and Bjørn Lambertsen from Minang and Ann Applegren from Tenga who lost the challenge and were eliminated and sent to Utopia. In episode 9, the two tribes merged and five contestants from Utopia returned to the game. In episode 10, Germaine lost a challenge and was eliminated. In episode 11, Anja and Reda were sent to Utopia where Anja lost a duel and was eliminated. In episode 13, all Utopia contestants competed in a duel which Hans "HC" Nørager lost and was eliminated. From the beginning Survivor was a success in Turkey, however, the cost of producing the show proved to be too much for Kanal D and even Show TV couldn't afford to produce the show on a yearly basis. Because of production costs the show was put on hiatus in 2007 and was brought back three years later. The prize for the first seasons of the show was 150,000 euros, for the second and third seasons 250,000 euros, and 500,000 dollars for the fourth season.

Survivor: Odisejev Otok, was the first and only season of the Croatian version of the Swedish show Expedition Robinson, or Survivor and it aired 2005. Having been influenced by the success of the Croatian version of Big Brother, channel HRT decided to launch a Croatian version of Survivor which aired from May 12, 2005 to July 7, 2005. An immediate twist this season was that each tribe was forced to take part in an elimination challenge on day one of the competition. As Ivan Krželj of the "Ammos" tribe and Ana Marija Bojko of the "Petros" tribe lost the challenge they were both eliminated from the competition. Throughout the rest of the pre-merge portion of the competition the tribes battled for a majority when the merge arrived. As many of them were considered weak by their tribes, most of the women were eliminated during this portion of the competition. When the merge arrived, the two tribes became one known as "Zoi" and the former members of Ammos found themselves out numbered six to four. Due to this, all of the former members of Ammos, with the exception of Silvija Zelko, were almost immediately eliminated. When it came time for the final four, the contestants competed in two challenges in order to determine the final two. As the winner of the first challenge, Vazmenko Pervanu chose to eliminate the only non-former Petros member Silvija Zelko. Kristina Sesar, Vazmenko Pervanu, and Vedran Rubrik Šehić were then forced to compete in a second challenge which Vedran Rubrik Šehić won and chose to eliminate Kristina Sesar, who many considered to be the villain of the season. Unlike most versions of Survivor, the public, not the jury, chose the winner and despite the fact that Vedran Rubrik Šehić won the jury vote by a margin of 4-3, it was Vazmenko Pervanu who won this season with a public vote of 68.23% to Vedran Rubrik Šehić's 31.77%. Due to low ratings Survivor was cancelled following this season.

Survivor Africa: Panama was the first pan-regional season of the television show Survivor to air in central or southern Africa and it included contestants from the countries of Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The show was broadcast on the channel M-net from September 3, 2006, to November 19, 2006, during which time twelve episodes aired. The contestants for this season were initially split into two tribes, the Embera tribe, named after Panama's semi-nomadic and heavily body-painted tribe, whose buffs were blue, and the Kuna tribe, named after a traditionally matriarchal and politically organised people of Panama, whose buffs were red. During the pre-merge portion of the program the Embera tribe dominated as they won the majority of both the reward and immunity challenges while Kuna saw their numbers dwindle from six to three. When the tribes merged into the Nagual tribe their buff colors may have changed to yellow, but their original tribal alliances remained and the former members of Embera quickly voted out Yagazie "Yaga" Chuwumerje and Nana Sarpong, leaving Metasebia "Meti" Yilma as the only former Kuna member left in the game. Following the elimination of Nana, Tsholofelo "Tebby" Gasenelwe approached Meti and Olanike "Nike" Gbolahan about forming an all-girl alliance. Once formed, the girl alliance, along with Jeremiah Zulu, voted out both Leonard Mapuranga and the leader of the former Embera alliance, Derrick Assetto. When it came time for the final four, the contestants competed in two challenges in order to determine the final two. The first of these challenges was the "plank" challenge. As Meti was the first person to fall off the plank, she was eliminated from the game. As Tebby was the last person to fall off the plank, she automatically advanced to the final two. The other two contestants competed in a second challenge which Jeremiah won and advanced to the final two while Nike was eliminated. Ultimately, it was Gasenelwe from Botswana who won this season over Jeremiah Zulu with a jury vote of 6–0.

Expedition Robinson 2000, was the second and final season of the Swiss version of the reality show Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries to air in Switzerland and it was broadcast on TV3 from March 12, 2000 to June 11, 2000. An immediate twist that occurred this season was that the contestants were initially split into two tribes based on gender. In episode one, Daniel Sauter suffered an injury at camp and had to be evacuated from the game. Sauter was later replaced by Hansjürg Binzegger. Both Alessandra Angiuli and Manfred Breitschmid were eliminated from the game in episode two when the contestants were split up into two tribes of seven, one being the Nordcamp and the other being the Südcamp, based on a school yard style pick. Following a duel in episode four, South team member Sascha Negele was moved to the North team. In episode six the two tribes merged into the Tengah tribe and shortly after the fifth tribal council the "black vote" twist was introduced into the game. The black vote twist allowed a player that was voted out at one tribal council to cast a vote at the following tribal council. In episode seven, a joker, Ivana Bolzano, entered the game. When it came time for the final five, the contestants took part in a series of challenges in which the winner would be able to eliminate any of the losers they wanted to. Maddalena Haug, Sascha Negele, and Dayana Zgraggen all failed to win a challenge and were eliminated. Ultimately, it was Stefanie Ledermann who won this season over Martina Pérez with an unknown jury vote.

Supervivientes: Expedición Robinson 2001, was the second season of the show Supervivientes to air in Spain and it was broadcast on Telecinco from September 16, 2001 to December 20, 2001. This season took place on the island of Madagascar off the coast of Africa. For this season the contestants were again initially divided into the North and South teams. In episode five a tribal swap occurred in which Alfredo "Freddy" Cortina and José "Kaky" Lópe swapped tribes. As part of this twist neither could be voted out before the merge. When the tribes merged, for the first few days following the merge there weren't any reward challenges, and following the acceptance of food from a native in episode 8, it was decided that none of the contestants would be immune at the eighth tribal council. When it came time for the final three, the contestants took part in two challenges in order to determine who would be the finalists. Ultimately, it was Alfredo "Freddy" Cortina who won this season over Antonio "Amate" Amate by 6 jury votes and took home the grand prize of 20,000,000 pesetas. Andrés was voted as the favourite contestants from this season with 37% of public votes and he won the prize of 3,000,000 pesetas.

Expeditie Robinson: Strijd der Titanen, was a special All-Stars season of the Dutch/Belgian version of the Swedish show Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries. This season began airing in March 2006 and concluded in July of that year. This season began with a surprise "plank" challenge in which the winner would automatically be immune from the first elimination and would be one of two contestants to be "leaders" of a tribe. As the winner of this challenge Ilona van der Laan, along with Veronique De Pryker, who Ilona picked as the person she got along with the least, picked their tribes from the fifteen other contestants. The last person not picked, Björn Lemeirel, was eliminated from the game. Another twist occurred in episode four when each tribe was asked to pick one player that they trusted the most. The North team chose Melvin Pigot, while the South team chose Richard Mackowia. These two contestants were both sent to a secret island called Entatula where the merge tribe of Panga would live. Eventually those living on the island had chosen all but Fleur Roozenburg, Lydia Guiso, Maxime Verbist, Ryan van Esch, and Veronique De Pryker to join them, they composed the Miniloc tribe and were forced to take part in a series of duels until only one remained and would return to the game. When it came time for the final four, the contestants took part in a couple of final challenges in order to determine who would be the finalists. The first of these challenges was won by Jennifer Smit while the second was won by Ryan van Esch. Ultimately, it was Ryan van Esch who won this season over Jennifer Smit by a jury vote of 4-2.
