FC Hereti Lagodekhi is a Georgian football club based in Lagodekhi. They played in the Regional League, the fifth division in Georgian football.

Lagodekhi is a town, located at the foot of the Greater Caucasus mountains between the rivers Lagodekhiskhevi and Shromiskhevi, in the historical region of Hereti. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Alazani</span> River in Georgia and Azerbaijan

The Alazani is a river that flows through the Caucasus. It is the main tributary of the Kura in eastern Georgia, and flows for 351 kilometres (218 mi). Part of its path forms the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan, before it meets the Kura at the Mingəçevir Reservoir. The river is likely the same as that referred to by classical authors Strabo and Pliny as "Alazonius" or "Alazon", and may also be the Abas River mentioned by Plutarch and Dio Cassius (37.3) as the location of the Battle of the Abas.

Zurab Popkhadze was a Georgian professional footballer. He made his professional debut in the Meore Liga in 1990 for FC Hereti Lagodekhi. He also won four caps for the Georgia national football team.

Georgia has a long history of establishing protected areas dating back to 1912 when the Lagodekhi Strict Nature Reserve was created. Nowadays, protected areas make up to 7% of the country's territory and about 75% of protected areas are covered by forests. Total number of protected areas in Georgia — 89. In Georgia there are 14 Strict Nature Reserves, 12 National Parks, 20 Managed Nature Reserves, 40 Natural Monuments, 2 Ramsar sites and 1 Protected Landscape. Management and coordination of the Protected Areas is implemented by a Legal Entity of Public Law Protected Areas Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources of Georgia. The Georgia women's football championship is contested in the top level women's football league in Georgia. The league ran until 2010 and was for a time defunct, in 2014 an attempt was made to restore the championship in the form of a cup tournament. In 2015, no tournament was held, but competition resumed in 2016.

Lagodekhi Protected Areas, also known as Lagodekhi National Park, is a pair of protected areas in the Kakheti district of Georgia: Lagodekhi Strict Nature Reserve and Lagodekhi Managed Nature Reserve. The combined area of the two is 24,451 hectares (94.41 sq mi). The reserves are located in north-eastern Georgia on the southern slopes of the Caucasus and border Azerbaijan and Dagestan. Lagodekhi preserves a variety of rare local flora and fauna and was originally protected in 1912, under the Russian Empire, becoming the first such nature preserve on the territory of present-day Georgia. Their ecoregion is that of the Caucasus mixed forests.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">S5 highway (Georgia)</span>

The Georgian S5 route, also known as Tbilisi-Bakurtsikhe-Lagodekhi or Kakheti Highway, is a "road of international importance" within the Georgian road network and runs from Tbilisi via Sagarejo and Bakurtsikhe to the border with Azerbaijan near Lagodekhi over a distance of 160 kilometres (99 mi). After crossing the Georgian-Azerbaijan border the highway continues as M5 to Zagatala and Yevlakh. The S5 highway is one of the two Georgian S-highways that is not part of the European or Asian international highway routes. Within the Georgian S-network it connects with the S9 Tbilisi Bypass.
