The lake's name and that of the surrounding Shuswap Country is from the Shuswap people (Secwepemc), the most northern of the Salishan speaking people.
Wedaustadion was a multi-purpose stadium in Duisburg, Germany. It was the home ground for MSV Duisburg until the club moved to the new MSV-Arena after the 2003–04 season. The stadium held 30,112. It was built in 1921 and was the second biggest stadium in Germany at the time.
The Mitsubishi Electric Halle is an indoor arena located in Düsseldorf, Germany. It opened in 1971 and has a capacity of 7,500 people. It was originally named after Dutch electronics conglomerate Philips. It was renamed the Mitsubishi Electric Halle in April 2011.
The Diver is a sculpture by John Kaufman located in the River Thames at Rainham, east London. The Diver is made of galvanised steel bands on a steel frame and is 15 feet (4.6 m) tall and approximately 6 feet (1.8 m) wide and is partly submerged every high tide and totally submerged by spring and neap tides.
Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) were temporary advance airfields constructed by the Allies during World War II during the liberation of Europe. They were built in the UK prior to the invasion and thereafter in northwest Europe from 6 June 1944 to V-E Day, 7 May 1945.
The River Teise is a tributary of the River Medway in Kent, England. It begins in Dunorlan Park in Tunbridge Wells. and flows eastwards past Bayham Abbey and then through Lamberhurst. 2 miles downstream of Lamberhurst the small River Bewl, on which is the reservoir Bewl Water, joins the Teise.
The River Can is a river in Essex, England. Chelmsford is centred on the confluence of the Can and the River Chelmer. The Can enters Chelmsford from the west, joining the Chelmer to the east of the city. From the confluence, the Can becomes part of the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation. The River Wid also meets the Can in the same area.
