A familiar stranger is an individual that is recognized, but not known.

A familiar stranger is a stranger who is nonetheless recognized by another from regularly sharing a common physical space such as a street or bus stop, but with whom one does not interact. First identified by Stanley Milgram in the 1972 paper The Familiar Stranger: An Aspect of Urban Anonymity, it has become an increasingly popular topic in research about social networks and technologically-mediated communication.

It peaked at No. 31 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Familiar Stranger was produced by Dean Reid for EMI and provided two singles, "Don't Wanna Grow Up Anymore" and "Go".

Familiar Stranger is the sixth studio album by American country music artist Mark Wills. Originally recorded for Equity Music Group, it was released on November 4, 2008 by Tenacity Records. While signed to Equity, Wills released three singles: "Hank", "Take It All Out on Me" and "Days of Thunder", all of which reached the lower regions of the Billboard country charts. After "Days of Thunder", Wills exited the label. He then signed to Tenacity, who released "The Things We Forget" as its third single, then released the album itself in late 2008. "Entertaining Angels" was then issued as the fourth single in early 2009. The fifth single, "Crazy White Boy," was released in late 2009. The latter three failed to enter the country charts.

Geoff Moore singer

Geoff Moore is an American contemporary Christian music artist and songwriter. He began recording as a solo artist in 1984. In 1987, he formed Geoff Moore and The Distance, his touring band, which released eight albums generating a string of No. 1 radio hits throughout their 10+ year tenure. In 1998, Geoff retired the band from full-time touring. After a "farewell tour", Moore has continued as a solo artist, releasing eight more records between 1999 and 2015. The Next Thing was released in April 2016, making it his 25th album to date.

Daryl Mark Williams, known professionally as Mark Wills, is an American country music artist. Signed to Mercury Records between 1996 and 2003, he released five studio albums for the label – Mark Wills, Wish You Were Here, Permanently, Loving Every Minute, and And the Crowd Goes Wild – as well as a greatest hits package. In that same timespan, he charted sixteen singles on the Billboard country charts, all of which made the top 40. After leaving Mercury in 2003, he signed to Equity Music Group and charted three more singles. Two of these were later included on his sixth studio album, Familiar Stranger, which was released on the Tenacity label in 2008.
