The Federation of Archaeological Managers and Employers (FAME) is a professional archaeological body in the United Kingdom.
It represents around 50 archaeological businesses throughout the UK, including commercial consultancies, universities, local authorities and charitable trusts.
FAME is the distinctive voice of those archaeological businesses who provide specialist services to commercial clients and developers, and represents the interests of archaeological business to government, the public, the profession and the wider business world.
Together, its members employ around 2,000 specialist staff engaged in the recording, analysis, research and publication of archaeological evidence in England, Scotland and Wales.
Originally formed in 1975 as the Standing Conference of Unit Managers (SCUM), it later became the Standing Conference of Archaeological Unit Managers (SCAUM), and changed its name to FAME in 2008.
It is governed by a Chair and a Committee elected annually from its member organisations, with a Chief Executive responsible for day-to-day business.

FAME expresses its views on national and local issues directly affecting its members. Recent examples have included the publication of government guidance on planning and archaeology, job losses in archaeology, the Fenland debate, the findings of the Southport Group, and the growing crisis of undeposited archaeological archives held by member organisations.
A safety data sheet (SDS), material safety data sheet (MSDS), or product safety data sheet (PSDS) are documents that list information relating to occupational safety and health for the use of various substances and products. SDSs are a widely used system for cataloging information on chemicals, chemical compounds, and chemical mixtures. SDS information may include instructions for the safe use and potential hazards associated with a particular material or product, along with spill-handling procedures. The older MSDS formats could vary from source to source within a country depending on national requirements; however, the newer SDS format is internationally standardized.

The Council for British Archaeology (CBA) was established in 1944 and is an educational charity working throughout the United Kingdom to involve people in archaeology and to promote the appreciation and care of the historic environment for the benefit of present and future generations. It achieves this by promoting research, conservation and education, and by widening access to archaeology through effective communication and participation.
The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) is a decentralised agency of the European Union with the task of collecting, analysing and disseminating relevant information that can serve the needs of people involved in safety and health at work. Set up in 1994 by Council Regulation (EC) No 2062/94 of 18 July 1994, EU-OSHA is based in Bilbao, Spain, where it has a staff of occupational safety and health, communication and administrative specialists. Dr Christa Sedlatschek is the current Director of EU-OSHA, following on from Dr Jukka Takala in September 2011.
The Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) is a voluntary programme run by the United Kingdom government to record the increasing numbers of small finds of archaeological interest found by members of the public. The scheme was begun in 1997 and now covers most of England and Wales.
The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) is a professional organisation for archaeologists working in the United Kingdom and overseas. It was founded in 1982 to represent the profession and currently has over 3500 members drawn from all areas of the archaeological community.

The Archaeology Data Service (ADS) is an open access digital archive for archaeological research outputs. It is located in The King's Manor, at the University of York. Originally intended to curate digital outputs from archaeological researchers based in the UK's Higher Education sector, the ADS also holds archive material created under the auspices of national and local government as well as in the commercial archaeology sector. The ADS carries out research, most of which focuses on resource discovery, cross-searching and interoperability with other relevant archives in the UK, Europe and the United States of America.
