Festival Nacional del Cabrito (National Kids Festival) is a three-day festival taking place annually in late February, in Recreo, Catamarca Province, Argentina. It one of the largest festivals in the area.

The festival started in 1972. The festival is home to a fair, many crafts, and the annual voting of queens.

Its construction was paid for by the Galician immigrants of Havana to serve as a community-social center. Located in the Paseo del Prado, its facilities include theatres, a concert hall, conference rooms, a video screening room, as well as an art gallery, a choral center and several rehearsal halls for dance companies. It hosts the International Ballet Festival of Havana every two years since 1960.

The 1892 Recreo earthquake took place in the Catamarca Province of Argentina on 21 March at about 01:45 AM, with magnitude of 6.0 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located approximately at 29°30′S65°0′W, and at a depth of about 30 kilometres (19 mi).

The Mosque Ibrahim Ibin Abdul Aziz Al-Ibrahim or Caracas Mosque is a mosque in the El Recreo district of Caracas, Venezuela. It is the second largest mosque in Latin America after the King Fahd Islamic Cultural Center in Buenos Aires. Mirroring modern Venezuela's religious tolerance and its oil realpolitik the construction of the mosque began in 1989 by Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Ibrahim Al Ibrahim. The mosque designed by architect Zuhair Fayez occupies an area of 5000 m2, its minaret is 113 metres high and the dome is 23 metres high. Construction of the mosque was completed in 1993. The mosque can hold around 3500 worshipers. Rising higher between the Catholic Cathedral a few blocks away and the Caracas Synagogue, the minaret is the highest in the Americas.

Cabrito Rock is a Spanish rock festival, usually lasting about two days. Inspired by the Cosquin Rock festival, it takes place in Recreo, Argentina, and is the only festival of its kind in the Catamarca Province.
