Haile Selassie I was the Emperor of Ethiopia from 1930 to 1974. Prior his coronation, he had been the Regent Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia from 1916. He is a defining figure in modern Ethiopian history. He was a member of the Solomonic dynasty who traced his lineage to Emperor Menelik I.
Ethiopia, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, is a landlocked country in the Horn of Africa. Lij Iyasu, was the designated Emperor of Ethiopia from 1913 to 1916. His baptismal name was Kifle Yaqob. Ethiopian emperors traditionally chose their regnal name on the day they were crowned, and since he was never crowned, he is usually referred to as Lij Iyasu, "Lij" meaning child, especially one born of royal blood.
The Oromia Region is a regional state in Ethiopia, the homeland of the Oromo people. The 2011 census reported the population of Oromia as 35,000,000; this makes it the largest regional state in population. It is also the largest regional state covering 286,612 square kilometers. Oromia is the world's forty-second most populous subnational entity, and the most populous subnational entity in all of Africa. Beta Israel, also known as Ethiopian Jews, are a Jewish community that developed and lived for centuries in the area of the Kingdom of Aksum and the Ethiopian Empire, which is currently divided between the modern-day Amhara and Tigray regions of Ethiopia. Most of the community emigrated to Israel in the late 20th century.

It is located about three km from the main Addis Ababa-Debre Marqos road, Fiche has a latitude and longitude of 9°48′N38°44′E and an elevation between 2,738 and 2,782 metres above sea level.
