In 2006, Frances Lopez started promoting shows at the Trunk Space in Phoenix, Arizona under the name Fizzle Promotions [1] and has hosted local music showcases and national touring acts such as Peelander-Z, the Creeping Nobodies, Kind of Like Spitting and Simone White.

Peelander-Z is a Japanese punk band based in Austin, Texas, in 1998 by Peelander-Yellow, Peelander-Red, and Peelander-Blue. They bill themselves as a "Japanese Action Comic Punk band hailing from the Z area of Planet Peelander". While the founding members of Peelander-Z were all born in Japan, they first met and formed their band while living in New York.
The Creeping Nobodies were a Canadian rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario in 2001. They played their final gig in 2009.
Fizzle Promotions is Frances Lopez who puts any and all funds back into helping local and independent music thrive. Fizzle Promotions primarily books at the Trunk Space in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, but has also done work with the Paper Heart and Modified Arts. [2]
Modified Arts is an art gallery, music and performance space in Downtown Phoenix, AZ. The gallery is part of the Roosevelt Row Arts District. Owner Kimber Lanning opened Modified Arts in 1999 as a live music and performance space. Musicians such as Kristin Hersh, Arcade Fire, and Why? performed there. In 2010, Kim Larkin and Adam Murray took over Modified Arts as Director and Associate Director, respectively. At that time the focus of gallery changed to more visual and performance art with fewer bands and musicians. In 2010, Larkin and Murray stepped down from running the gallery. In Dec. 2011, Curator/Artist Jeff Chabot took over as Director & Curator of Modified Arts. Chabot's focus has been on exhibiting contemporary art such as photography, installation, printmaking, sculpture, drawing, painting, video, and mixed media.
A one-person operation, Fizzle Promotions is also the host of a Quarterly Concern festival that showcases over a dozen bands from all over the nation every three months at the Trunk Space.
In April 2007, Phoenix Metropolitan Magazine published a two-page spread on Fizzle Promotions featuring an interview with its creator. The article can be found in the magazine's Spring Issue.
In addition to regular concerts, Fizzle Promotions has held two benefits in 2006, and 2007; a canned food drive for St. Mary's Food Bank in Phoenix and most recently, a "Senior Prom" benefit show in May 2007, which proceeds were donated to the Alzheimer's Association of America.
