She was retired after one unsuccessful start as a three-year-old.
Eswarah is a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare best known for winning the 2005 Epsom Oaks. In a racing career which lasted from April to August 2005 the filly ran five times and won three races. Unraced as a two-year-old, Eswarah won her first three races as a three-year-old culminating with a win in the Classic Oaks over one and a half miles at Epsom. In her two subsequent appearances she finished eighth in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and fourth in the Yorkshire Oaks.
Flanders was an American Thoroughbred racing filly. In 1994, she won all five of her races, although she was disqualified from the Matron Stakes and placed last due to testing positive for the prohibited therapeutic drug isoxuprine. She then went on to win the Frizette Stakes by 21 lengths. She is best known for winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. She came out of the race with a condylar fracture of the cannon bone and a fractured sesamoid. She underwent surgery and was retired in early 1995. She was euthanized in February 2010 because of complications following a paddock accident.
Cash Run is an American Thoroughbred racing filly. In 1999, she won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and finished second in Eclipse Award balloting to Chilukki. She won the Bonnie Miss Stakes and Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream Park in the first part of her 3-year-old season, but her form dropped off sharply after that. She ran third in two stakes in her next eight races, and was retired with five wins from 17 starts. She was retired for stud in 2001.
Take Charge Brandi is an American Thoroughbred racehorse. A descendant of the outstanding broodmare Take Charge Lady, she was one of the leading juvenile fillies in North America in 2014. After winning only one of her first five races she sprang a 66/1 upset when winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and followed up with victories in the Delta Princess Stakes and the Grade I Starlet Stakes. After winning a listed stakes race early in 2015, a bone chip in her knee, discovered prior to her anticipated start in the Rebel Stakes, took her out of contention for the Kentucky Oaks. Returning to the track in August 2015, following two lackluster performances, she was retired in September, 2015.
Sweet Catomine is an American Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. After finishing second on her racecourse debut as a two-year-old in July 2004, she emerged as the best juvenile filly of her generation in the United States, winning the Del Mar Debutante Stakes, Oak Leaf Stakes and Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies before being voted American Champion Two-Year-Old Filly. In the following spring she won the Santa Ysabel Stakes and Santa Anita Oaks and was considered a serious contender for the Kentucky Derby before finishing fifth in the Santa Anita Derby and was retired from racing shortly afterwards. Her run in the Santa Anita Derby was controversial as there were allegations that her connections had not been fully open about her training problems. The complaints were dismissed after a formal hearing by the local racing authority.
Lillie Langtry is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. Bred at a small stud in County Cork she was sold as a yearling and raced for the Coolmore organisation. As a two-year-old, she was one of the best juvenile fillies in Ireland winning three of her seven races including the Fillies' Sprint Stakes, Debutante Stakes and Tattersalls Timeform Fillies' 800 as well as finishing third in both the Albany Stakes and the Moyglare Stud Stakes. She was injured when finishing unplaced in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. In 2010 she recorded her biggest wins when recording Group One victories in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown. She was retired at the end of the year with a record of five wins from eleven races.
Catchascatchcan was an undefeated British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. Owned and bred Lord Howard de Walden and trained by Henry Cecil she was unraced as a juvenile before winning a maiden race on her first appearance. She went on to win the Lancashire Oaks and the Aphrodite Stakes and recorded her biggest success in the Yorkshire Oaks before her career was ended by injury. Since retiring from the racecourse she has had some success as a dam of winners.
The 2005 Breeders' Cup World Championships was the 22nd edition of the premier event of the North American thoroughbred horse racing year. The eight races, all of which were Grade I, took place on October 29 at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York and were telecast by NBC. The Breeders' Cup is generally regarded as the end of the North America racing season, although a few Grade I events take place in later November and December. The results of the races were highly influential in that year's Eclipse Award voting.
Pia was a British-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She showed top-class form as a juvenile in 1966 when she won three races including the Cherry Hinton Stakes and the Lowther Stakes as well as finishing second in the Cheveley Park Stakes. In the following year she ran fourth in the 1000 Guineas and third in the Musidora Stakes before recording her biggest win in the Epsom Oaks. Later that year she dead-heated for first place in the Park Hill Stakes and ran fourth in a strong renewal of the Champion Stakes before being retired from racing. Although her foals made little impact on the track, her daughter Principia became an influential broodmare.
Lovely Rosa was an Irish-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare best known for her win in the 1936 Epsom Oaks. As a juvenile in 1945 she showed some promise when finishing second in the Queen Mary Stakes and winning a race at Newbury but then showed little worthwhile form until her 33/1 upset victory in the Oaks. She never won again and was retired at the end of 1936. She had some success as a broodmare, most notably being the grand-dam of Wilwyn.
Four Course was a British Thoroughbred racehorse. She was one of the best two-year-old fillies of her generation in England when she won three of her four races, namely the July Stakes, Richmond Stakes and Gimcrack Stakes. In the following spring she won the 1000 Guineas and finished second in both the Epsom Oaks and the Falmouth Stakes. She was retired at the end of the year but died before she could make and mark as a broodmare.
Hypericum was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. Bred and owned by King George VI she was one of the best two-year-old fillies in England in 1945 when she won two of her four races including the Dewhurst Stakes as well as finishing second in the Middle Park Stakes. In the following year she became increasingly temperamental but after finishing second on her seasonal debut she won the 1000 Guineas despite throwing her jockey and bolting before the start. In her two subsequent races she finished fourth in the Epsom Oaks and unplaced in the Coronation Stakes. As a broodmare she had an enduring influence on the breed through her granddaughter Highclere.
Queenpot was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She won three times as a juvenile in 1947, with her biggest success of the year coming in the Prendergast Stakes at Newmarket Racecourse. In the following spring she took the Katheryn Howard Stakes before recording her most significant victory in the 1000 Guineas. As a broodmare she produced several minor winners including the dam of Northjet.
Camaree was a French Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She showed promise as a juvenile when she won twice and finished second in the Prix Thomas Bryon. She reached her peak in the following spring when she took the Prix Vanteaux and was then sent to England where she recorded her biggest victory in the 1000 Guineas. She ran unplaced when favourite for the Epsom Oaks and was retired from racing. She had little success as a broodmare.
