Frankfort High School is located at 328 Shelby Street in Frankfort, Kentucky, United States. It is part of the Frankfort Independent School District which consists of Second Street School, Panther Transition Academy, and Frankfort High School.
In December 1885, the original building burned. Students had classes in various buildings in downtown until the school could be rebuilt. The new building was built large enough to allow for a full high school. After the fire, Frankfort High School reopened in 1889. The school had a 3-year program and the 1st graduating of 7 girls was in 1892. In 1892, Frankfort City Schools became the first school in Kentucky to offer kindergarten. A commercial school program was added in 1904. A 4-year program was started in 1909. In 1956, Frankfort High School became desegregated. Notable graduates include George C. Wolfe, Steve Nunn, Major General Edgar E. Hume, Lt. Governor Crit Luallen, diplomat James Sutterlin, and silent film star Bob Custer (Raymond Glenn). The Frankfort High mascot is a panther.
The U.S. News & World Report named Frankfort High School the 12th best High School in Kentucky in 2014. [3] In 2024, it was ranked the 109th best high school in Kentucky according to U.S. News. [4]

Ballard High School is a high school in the eastern suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky, and is a part of the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) school district. The school opened in the fall of 1968. The first students were in grades 7-9, and a grade was added each year as the building was expanded. This kept the school system from having to transfer upper class students from other high schools. The first class graduated in 1972. From its founding until the mid-1980s the principal was Patrick Crawford. Sandy Allen served from the mid-1980s to the 2003–2004 school year. The principal from 2004 through 2013 was Jim Jury. Staci Edelman was the 4th and shortest standing principal, from 2015 to 2017, with a term marked by racial tension and controversy. The current principal is Jason Neuss. The school offers grades 9-12.

Founded in 1886 as the State Normal School for Colored Persons, and becoming a land-grant college in 1890, KSU is the second-oldest state-supported institution of higher learning in Kentucky. Crescent Hill is a neighborhood four miles (6 km) east of downtown Louisville, Kentucky USA. This area was originally called "Beargrass" because it sits on a ridge between two forks of Beargrass Creek. The boundaries of Crescent Hill are N Ewing Ave to the St. Matthews city limit by Brownsboro Road to Lexington Road. Frankfort Avenue generally bisects the neighborhood.

Midway University is a private Christian university in Midway, Kentucky. Related by covenant to the Christian Church, it enrolls approximately 1,900 students earning two-year and four-year degrees as well as master's degrees. Midway was the only women's college in Kentucky until 2016 when it began admitting male undergraduate students.

The building that once housed Douglass School, located at 465 Price Road, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Fayette County in 1998.
