Spotsylvania County is a county in the U.S. state of Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 140,032. Spotsylvania is a part of Northern Virginia and the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area. Its county seat is Spotsylvania Courthouse.

Matthew Stanley "Matt" Quay was a Pennsylvania political boss once dubbed a "kingmaker" by President Benjamin Harrison. He graduated college, studied law and opened a legal practice in 1854. During the Civil War, he served in the Union Army as a member of the 134th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, which he commanded as a colonel. Quay received the Medal of Honor for heroism at the battle of Fredericksburg. He later served as the Pennsylvania Militia's assistant commissary general, and as a personal assistant to Governor Andrew Curtin.

Hugh Mercer was a Scottish soldier and physician who participated in the Seven Years' War and American Revolution. He initially served with the Jacobite forces of Bonnie Prince Charlie, and with the British forces during the Seven Years' War, and later became a brigadier general in the American Continental Army and a close friend to George Washington. Mercer died as a result of his wounds received at the Battle of Princeton and became a fallen hero as well as a rallying symbol of the American Revolution.

Pennsylvania Route 343 is an 8.16-mile (13.13 km) route running from Lebanon north to Fredericksburg in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. It begins at PA 72 and ends at Exit 6 of Interstate 78 (I-78). PA 343 heads mostly through urbanized areas near Lebanon before continuing into rural areas further north. There is a concurrency with U.S. Route 22 near the northern terminus.
Pine Knob is a peak in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. This mountain is a satellite peak of its larger neighbor Blue Knob. At 2,704 ft (824 m) above sea level it is the lesser in elevation when compared to Schaefer Head (2,950 ft), Round Knob (2,791 ft), Cattle Knob (2,842 ft) and Ritchey Knob (2,865 ft). The latter mountain is connected to Pine Knob; the saddle elevation between the peaks is 2,597 ft (792 m)
