From Dreams To Reality: A Tribute to Minority Inventors is a 1986 documentary featuring African-American actor, writer and director Ossie Davis. [1] It features several notable African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans, and Latinos who have made significant contributions to science, technology, and medicine. [2] With a 27-minute runtime, the documentary film was executive produced by Robert B. Amdur and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to encourage more Americans to prepare for and consider careers in science and technology. [3]

Robert Jonathan Demme was an American filmmaker. Originally, animators projected photographed live-action movie images onto a glass panel and traced over the image. This projection equipment is referred to as a rotoscope, developed by Polish-American animator Max Fleischer, and the result is a rotograph. This device was eventually replaced by computers, but the process is still called rotoscoping.

Raiford Chatman "Ossie" Davis was an American actor, director, writer, and activist. He was married to Ruby Dee, with whom he frequently performed, until his death. He and his wife were named to the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame; were awarded the National Medal of Arts and were recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors. He was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1994.
