Funeral for a Friend / Moments in Grace is a split single by Bridgend,Wales,post-hardcore band Funeral for a Friend and St. Augustine,Florida,alternative rock / post-hardcore band Moments in Grace. It was co-released as a clear-colored 7-inch vinyl by Atlantic Records,Salad Days Records,Mighty Atom Records and Infectious Records on April 20,2004. [1] [2] [3]
The split was released in promotion of an American tour that the two bands shared in April 2004,accompanied by Avenged Sevenfold and My Chemical Romance. Funeral for a Friend's song,"Bullet Theory",was previously released on the band's debut full-length album Casually Dressed &Deep in Conversation ,while Moments in Grace's song,"My Dying Day",was scheduled to appear on the band's forthcoming debut full-length album Moonlight Survived . At the time of the split's release,neither song had been officially released in the United States.
Moments in Grace's contribution,"My Dying Day",was one of sixteen songs that the band recorded for its full-length album, Moonlight Survived . [4] [5] The album was recorded over the span of two months,from June to August 2003,with producer Brian McTernan at his Salad Days studio in Beltsville,Maryland. [4] [5] Unhappy with the way Moonlight Survived sounded,the band returned to Salad Days in November 2003 to re-record some of the material,record a couple of extra songs,and fully re-mix the release. Funeral for a Friend's "Bullet Theory" had already been released on the band's debut album Casually Dressed &Deep in Conversation through Mighty Atom Records in the United Kingdom,but had yet to be officially released in the United States.
On the other hand,Moments in Grace's "My Dying Day" had not been released,though it was scheduled to appear on the band's forthcoming debut album Moonlight Survived,originally planned for release in May 2004, [6] [7] but ultimately delayed until August 17,2004. [8]
The split 7-inch vinyl was co-released through Atlantic Records,Salad Days Records,Mighty Atom Records and Infectious Records,on April 20,2004. [1] [3] In promotion of the release,webzine Ultimate Guitar held a giveaway contest for five winners to receive a record and a signed poster. [9] [10] [2]
When Moonlight Survived was eventually released,all pre-orders placed through online retailer Smartpunk received a free copy of the split 7-inch vinyl. [11] [12]
The split 7-inch vinyl was released in promotion of an American tour shared by Funeral for a Friend and Moments in Grace. At the time,Moments in Grace was on a lengthy six-week tour of the East Coast,South and West Coast of the United States with Avenged Sevenfold,from April 16 to May 24,2004. [15] [16] Funeral for a Friend joined in from April 17–23, [17] following several weeks of shows with Coheed and Cambria. [17]

Grace Under Pressure is the tenth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released April 12, 1984, on Anthem Records. After touring for the band's previous album, Signals (1982), came to an end in mid-1983, Rush started work on a follow-up in August. The band had decided not to work with longtime producer Terry Brown, who had collaborated with Rush since 1974. The new material accentuated the group's change in direction towards a synthesizer-oriented sound like its previous album. Hot Water Music is an American punk rock band formed in October 1994 and based in Gainesville, Florida. Since their formation, the group has consisted of Chuck Ragan and Chris Wollard on shared lead vocals and guitars, bass guitarist Jason Black, and drummer George Rebelo. Adam David "Atom" Willard is an American drummer who has been a member of several notable musical acts. His career began in 1990 when he joined Rocket from the Crypt, with whom he remained until 2000. Subsequently, he joined the Special Goodness, the Offspring, and in 2005 became a founding member of Angels & Airwaves. In 2007 Willard departed from the Offspring to focus on his work with Angels & Airwaves, and in April 2009 he also joined Social Distortion, but left the following March. In June 2011, he joined the band Danko Jones and in October 2011 amicably left Angels & Airwaves. From 2013 to 2020, he was the drummer for Against Me! until their indefinite hiatus. Currently he is playing in the bands Worriers, Plosivs, Lektron, and Alkaline Trio.

Timothy James Kirkpatrick is an American drummer. Originally from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Kirkpatrick played in punk band Shaft and emotional hardcore bands Roosevelt and Burgundy in his teens. After a brief stay in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he played in the hardcore band Bloodpact, Kirkpatrick moved to Gainesville, Florida in 1997, and joined metallic hardcore band Culture and melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust, both with vocalist Damien Moyal.
