Furnes Church is located in the village. It was built in 1707 using some of the stone from the Cathedral Ruins in Hamar.
Brumunda is a river in Innlandet, Norway. It comes from Brumundsjøen in Vang over the border into Ringsaker north of Høljemyra and continues in a southerly direction to the south of Bersbuseter. It ends at Brumunddal, the largest settlement in Ringsaker municipality of Innlandet, ending in lake Mjøsa a few kilometres north of Hamar.

The municipality included the Nes peninsula and the island of Helgøya which both are surrounded by the large lake Mjøsa, Norway's largest lake.
