The Galatea Quartet from Zurich is a young string quartet. It has existed in its original configuration since its inception in early 2005, when violist David Schneebeli left the formation in Summer 2013. His successor is Hugo Bollschweiler.
The ensemble has already won prizes at the Geneva International Music Competition, at the International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka or at the Migros Chamber Music Competition in Switzerland. Since 2006 the quartet has been participating in the sessions of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) with professors such as Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Christoph Richter etc. In Zurich, the quartet took lessons with Stephan Goerner of the Carmina Quartet. They also studied with the Artemis Quartet in Berlin. The quartet since performs numerous concerts in Europe and abroad (Japan, India, Egypt, Albania etc.). The quartet is also performing world premieres of contemporary music and works with artists such as Jon Lord, founder of Deep Purple, or local bands. Their Debut-CD with Sony Classics was published in 2011 and is dedicated to the string quartet works by Swiss-American composer Ernest Bloch.

The Ensō String Quartet is a US-based string quartet. Formed in 1999, it released three CDs on the Naxos Records label, one of which was nominated for a "Best Chamber Music Performance" Grammy award. The Sacconi Quartet is a UK-based classical music string quartet founded in 2001 by four graduates of the Royal College of Music, London, UK. The Quartet has achieved widespread recognition, having given recitals in leading British concert halls and at music festivals in Britain and across Europe. They have also won several major prizes in string quartet and chamber music competitions. The Quartet is named for the outstanding twentieth-century Italian violin maker and restorer Simone Sacconi, whose book The Secrets of Stradivari is considered an indispensable reference for violin makers.

Barnabás Kelemen is a Hungarian violinist, chamber musician, and professor. He is the founder and artistic director of the Festival Academy Budapest and he co-established the Kelemen Quartet. The Martinů Quartet is a Czech string quartet ensemble founded in 1976, originally under the name Havlák Quartet by students of Professor Viktor Moučka at the Prague Conservatory. In 1985, with the approval of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation, the quartet assumed its present name Martinů Quartet, pledging to promote the chamber music of Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů. The quartet specialises in the works of Czech composers such as Smetana, Dvořák and Janáček, and especially the works of Bohuslav Martinů. They perform regularly at the Prague Spring Festival as well as concerts in many European Countries, the United States, Canada and Japan. The Henschel Quartet is a German string quartet comprising the Henschel siblings; Christoph and Markus (violinists), Monika (viola) and Mathias Beyer-Karlshøj (cellist), who joined them in 1994. Brother Markus left the quartet in 2010, and was succeeded by Daniel Bell in 2012. In 2016–2018 Catalin Desaga took the place of the second violin. Today the Quartet consists of following members: Christoph Henschel and Teresa La Cour (violinists), Monika Henschel (viola) and Mathias Beyer-Karlshøj (cello).
The Vlach Quartet is the name of two consecutive classical string quartet musical ensembles, based in Prague, both of which were founded by members of the Vlach family. The original Vlach Quartet was founded by Josef Vlach in 1950 and wound up in 1975. In 1982 the New Vlach Quartet was founded by his daughter Jana Vlachova, with guidance her father, and came to be known as the Vlach Quartet of Prague, and is still active as a musical ensemble.
