Georgia Beth Davies (born 11 October 1990) is a British competition swimmer who has represented Great Britain in the Olympic Games and European championships, and swam for Wales in the Commonwealth Games. [1] She has won gold in the Commonwealth Games and European Championships. She currently represents Energy Standard in the International Swimming League.
Georgia Davies made her senior breakthrough as part of the Wales team at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, entering 5 events. [2] She won a bronze medal in the 50 metre backstroke. She also made the finals in the 100 metre backstroke, where she finished 6th, the 4x100 metre medley relay, where she finished 4th and the 4x200 metre freestyle relay, where she finished 6th. She also competed in the 200 metre freestyle, finishing 15th. [3]
She competed for Team GB at the 2011 World Championships, where she made the final as part of the 4x100 metre medley team, eventually finishing 6th. She also competed in the 50m backstroke, finishing 10th and missing out on the final. [4]
At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the women's 100-metre backstroke, finishing 6th in the heats. However, she was eliminated in the semifinal in 15th position. [5]
Georgia Davies competed in 2 events in the 2013 World Championships, the 50 metre backstroke, where she made the final and finished 6th and the 100 metre backstroke, where she finished 19th. [6]
In 2014, Davies won the gold medal in the 50 metre backstroke in a Games record, and silver in the 100 metre backstroke at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. [7] A month later, she won silver in the 50m backstroke and bronze in the 100-metre backstroke and 4×100-metre medley relay at the 2014 European Championships. [8] She won the bronze medal in the 100 metre backstroke at the 2014 World Championships (SC).
She represented Team GB again in the 2016 Summer Olympics, where she competed in the 100 metre backstroke but again went out in the semifinals, finishing 10th. [9] She made an Olympic final as part of the 4x100 metre medley relay team, finishing 7th. [10]
At the 2017 World Championships, Davies made finals in the 4x100 metre medley relay and 50 metre backstroke, finishing 7th and 8th respectively. She also competed in the 100 metre backstroke, finishing 10th. [11]
Davies represented Team Wales for the third time at the 2018 Commonwealth Games [12] and Davies returned from Australia a double bronze medallist in the 50 metre backstroke [13] and 4x100 metre medley relay.
At the 2018 European Championships, Davies won gold in the 50 metre backstroke finishing in 27.23 seconds. [14] She won another gold when she won as part of the team in the mixed 4 × 100m medley. [15] She added a silver in the 100 metre backstroke, [16] and a bronze in the women's 4 × 100 metre medley relay. [17]
At the 2019 World Aquatics Championships held in Gwangju, South Korea, Davies won a bronze as part of the British team in the 4 × 100 m mixed medley relay. [18]
In the Autumn of 2019 she was member of the inaugural International Swimming League swimming for the Energy Standard International Swim Club, who won the team title in Las Vegas, Nevada, in December. [19]
Neil Cochran is a Scottish former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympics, European championships and World University Games, and swam for Scotland in the Commonwealth Games, during the 1980s. Cochran competed in medley and freestyle swimming events.
Liam John Tancock is an English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA world championships, and European championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games. He specialised in backstroke and individual medley events. He is a three-time world champion and a four-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, and held the world record in the 50-metre backstroke for almost a decade.
Emily Jane Seebohm, OAM is an Australian swimmer and television personality. She has appeared at four Olympic Games between 2008 and 2021; and won three Olympic gold medals, five world championship gold medals and seven Commonwealth Games gold medals.
Francesca Jean Halsall is a retired English competitive swimmer who has represented Great Britain at the Olympics, FINA world championships, and European championships, and England at the Commonwealth Games. She competed primarily in freestyle and butterfly events.
Jemma Louise Lowe is a former British international butterfly swimmer and British record holder. She has competed for Wales in the Commonwealth Games, and was a member of Great Britain's 2008 and 2012 Olympic teams.

Adam George Peaty is an English competitive swimmer specialising in breaststroke. He won the gold medal in the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2016 Summer Olympics, the first by a male British swimmer in 24 years, and retained the title at the 2020 Summer Olympics in 2021, the first British swimmer ever to retain an Olympic title. He is also an eight-time World Champion, a sixteen-time European Champion and a four-time Commonwealth Champion. According to FINA itself, Peaty is widely regarded as the dominant breaststroke swimmer of his era, and the most dominant sprint breaststroke swimmer of all time.
James George Guy is an English competitive swimmer who specialises in freestyle and butterfly. Guy has won multiple gold medals at each of the major international meets available to him, including for Great Britain at the Olympic Games (2), the World (5) and European Championships (7), and England in the Commonwealth Games (2). In addition to further medals in those events, he has also reached the podium at both the World and European short-course championships. With 45 major medals at international championship meets, 19 at global level, he is one of the most decorated swimmers in British history.
Luke Greenbank is an English professional swimmer who specialises in backstroke. A medalist in the 200 metre backstroke at the Olympic Games and the World and European championships, he also swam the first leg in the 2019 World and 2020 European Championship gold medal-winning Great Britain medley relay teams. He won a silver medal as lead-off for Great Britain in the 4 x 100 metre medley relay for men at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He won a gold medal as lead-off for England in the heats of the 4 x 100 metre medley relay for men at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Duncan William MacNaughton Scott is a Scottish swimmer representing Great Britain at the FINA World Aquatics Championships, LEN European Aquatics Championships, European Games and the Olympic Games, and Scotland at the Commonwealth Games. Scott made history after winning four medals - more than any other British athlete at a single Olympic Games - in Tokyo 2020, simultaneously becoming Great Britain's most decorated swimmer in Olympic history.
Taylor Madison Ruck is a Canadian competitive swimmer. She won two Olympic bronze medals as part of Canada's women's 4×100 metre and 4×200 metre freestyle relay teams at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Ruck won eight medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. Her eight medal performance of one gold, five silver, and two bronze tied her with three other athletes for the most all-time at a single Commonwealth Games, as well as making her the most decorated Canadian female athlete ever at a single Commonwealth Games. Ruck is the all-time leading medallist at the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships having won nine gold, two silver, and two bronze over the course of the 2015 and 2017 editions.
Kylie Jacqueline Masse is a Canadian competitive swimmer. She is a four-time Olympic medallist, having tied for the bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the 100 m backstroke and then won silver medals at the 2020 Summer Olympics in both the 100 m and 200 m backstroke and a bronze medal in the 4x100 m medley. Masse is a two-time world champion in the 100 m backstroke, breaking the eight year old world record in the process, which she held until July 2018. While winning her title in Budapest at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships she became the first Canadian woman to become a world champion in a swimming event. She subsequently became the first Canadian woman to defend her world title at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. She is currently the captain for the Toronto Titans of the International Swimming League.
Chloé Tutton is a British breaststroke swimmer. She won a bronze medal in the individual 100 m and a gold in the 4×100 m medley relay events at the 2016 European Championships, and competed for the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Kathleen Mary Dawson is a Scottish backstroke swimmer. She won gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relay in a world record time. She is also the European champion at the 2020 Budapest Championships and holder of the European record in 100 m backstroke (58.08).
Freya Ann Alexandra Anderson is a British swimmer, known primarily for her achievements as a freestyle sprinter, especially as a relay swimmer for Great Britain. Anderson achieved nine relay gold medals at three editions of the European Championships, including 5 golds in a single meet at the 2020 European Championships in Budapest, as well as two bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games and a bronze at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. In July 2021, she won gold as part of the British team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relay, swimming the freestyle anchor leg in the heat.
Thomas William Darnton Dean is a British competitive freestyle swimmer. He is a double Olympic gold medalist, winning gold individually in 200 metre freestyle and as part of a team in 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Toni Stephanie Shaw is a British Paralympic swimmer. In 2019 she set the world record time for the S9 200m butterfly, and was also part of the team that set a new world record for the 4 × 100 m medley relay. At the 2020 Summer Paralympics, she won a bronze medal in the women's 400 metre freestyle S9 event and later went on to win gold at the 2022 World Para Swimming Championships, becoming the World Champion. She is a three-time World Champion and two-time European Champion.
Medi Eira Harris is a Welsh international swimmer competing for Great Britain and Wales in backstroke and freestyle. She was part of the gold medal-winning women's 4x100 freestyle relay team at the 2022 European Aquatics Championships. Representing Wales at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, she won a bronze medal in the women's 100 metre backstroke.
