Gerry Ryan is a former Irish professional football player who was born in Dublin.

Gerry Ryan, OAM is an Australian businessman, investor, racehorse owner and cycling enthusiast. According to the BRW Rich 200, in 2014 he was Australia's 148th richest person, with a wealth of AUD 340 million. He is the owner and founder of Jayco Australia, as well as owning wineries, resorts, the theatrical company Global Creatures, and is part-owner of online retailer BikeExchange and My Local Group. He is also a keen supporter of numerous sports. He became one of five inaugural inductees to the Victorian Caravan Industry Hall of Fame in 2012, and was inducted into the Victorian Government's Manufacturing Hall of Fame in 2014 for his contributions to manufacturing excellence. In 2011, with his son Andrew, he acquired Mitchelton Wines from Lion Nathan.

Death of Gerry Ryan

The sudden death of RTÉ broadcaster Gerry Ryan occurred on 30 April 2010. He was 53. Ryan had been presenting The Gerry Ryan Show since 1988 and at the time of his death had the largest audience on RTÉ 2fm. Ryan also hosted several television series, including Secrets, Gerry Ryan Tonight, Ryantown, Gerry Ryan's Hitlist and Operation Transformation and Ryan Confidential, as well as one edition of The Late Late Show in 2008. Ryan co-presented the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 with Cynthia Ní Mhurchú. He died sixteen years later at his Upper Leeson Street apartment in Dublin, his body found by his partner Melanie Verwoerd. The broadcaster had split from his wife Morah in 2008; the couple had five children together.
