Gidron Dameon Pope (born 24 November 1996) is a Vincentian cricketer who plays for the Windward Islands and the St Lucia Zouks in West Indian domestic cricket. He plays as an all-rounder, bowling right-arm off-spin and batting left-handed.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Country in the Caribbean

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an multi island Anglo-Caribbean country in the Lesser Antilles island arc, in the southeast Windward Islands, which lies in the West Indies at the southern end of the eastern border of the Caribbean Sea where the latter meets the Atlantic Ocean. The Windward Islands cricket team is a cricket team representing the member countries of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. The team plays in the West Indies Professional Cricket League under the franchise name Windward Islands Volcanoes.

St Lucia Zouks T20 franchise based in Saint Lucia

St Lucia Zouks are the representative team of Saint Lucia in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) of cricket. It is one of the six teams created in 2013 for the inaugural season of the tournament. The Zouks won only 4 games out of 14 in the first two seasons finishing last and second last in the tournament respectively. The 2016 season showed their best record yet, winning 6 out of 10 games and finishing third in the league, the Zouks' highest CPL T20 finish to date.

Pope was a member of the West Indies under-19s team that won the 2016 Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh, appearing in all six of their matches. [1] He scored 232 runs, including 60 against England and 76 against Fiji, and took seven wickets, including 4/24 against Fiji. Among his teammates, only Shamar Springer took more runs and only Alzarri Joseph took more wickets (although Shamar Springer and Keemo Paul took the same number as Pope). [2] In March 2016, Pope was selected to make his first-class debut for the Windward Islands, playing against Jamaica in the 2015–16 Regional Four Day Competition. [3]

The West Indian Under-19 cricket team have been playing official Under-19 test matches since 1974. Future international players to have represented the team include Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Courtney Walsh. They have played 35 matches, with their last match against England at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street, 28 August 2001. Their win/loss record is 12/5.

2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup

The 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament held in Bangladesh from 22 January to 14 February 2016. It was the eleventh edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the second to be held in Bangladesh, after the 2004 event.

The England Under-19 cricket team have been playing official Under-19 Test matches since 1974. Prior to 1991/92 they were known as England Young Cricketers.

He made his List A debut for the Windward Islands in the 2018–19 Regional Super50 tournament on 17 October 2018. [4] In October 2019, he was named in the West Indies Emerging Team for the 2019–20 Regional Super50 tournament. [5]

List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Together with first-class and Twenty20 cricket, List A is one of the three major forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The 2018–19 Regional Super50 was the 45th edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI). The tournament started on 3 October 2018. The players' draft for the tournament took place in May 2018. The Windward Islands were the defending champions.

The 2019–20 Regional Super50 is the 46th edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI). The tournament started on 6 November 2019, with the final scheduled to take place on 1 December 2019. The tournament features the six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket, the Combined Campuses and Colleges team and the West Indies Emerging Team. The national teams of the United States and Canada are also taking part. Combined Campuses and Colleges are the defending champions.

Sammy was appointed West Indies captain in October 2010. He scored his maiden Test century in May 2012 during a match against England.

Devon Cuthbert Thomas is a West Indian cricketer from Antigua. A right-hand batsman and wicket keeper, he played only one season for Leeward Islands before being given his One Day International debut on 28 July 2009 against Bangladesh while the first team were involved in a pay dispute with the West Indies Cricket Board. He batted in only one innings, scoring 29* from 32 balls, and took two wickets with his right-arm medium pace bowling.

Rahkeem Rashawn Shane Cornwall is an Antiguan cricketer. A right-arm off-break bowler, Cornwall has played for Leeward Islands cricket team and featured in the line-up for the Antigua Hawksbills in the Caribbean Premier League. In August 2019, Cricket West Indies named him as the Championship Player of the Year. Later the same month, he made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team. He also set the record for the heaviest cricketer to play test matches, weighing above 140kg.

Kavem Ajoel Rakem Hodge is a Dominican cricketer who has played for both the Windward Islands and the Combined Campuses and Colleges in West Indian domestic cricket.

The 2015–16 Regional Four Day Competition was the 50th edition of the Regional Four Day Competition, the domestic first-class cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). The competition ran from 6 November 2015 to 18 March 2016.

Alzarri Shaheim Joseph is an Antiguan cricketer who plays for the West Indies in Tests and ODIs. He plays for Leeward Islands and the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in West Indian domestic cricket. He is a right-arm fast bowler. He has been selected by the Mumbai Indians franchise as a replacement for Adam Milne for the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Sunil Walford Ambris is a Vincentian cricketer who has played for the Windward Islands and the Combined Campuses and Colleges in West Indian domestic cricket, as well as representing the St Lucia Zouks franchise in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). He was the first player to be dismissed hit-wicket twice in consecutive Tests and the first to be dismissed hit-wicket on test debut. Ambris middle name of Walford derives from former St. George Rugby League winger Ricky Walford who was and still is a household name in Ambris native St. Vincent.

Kesrick Omari Kenal Williams is a Vincentian cricketer who has played for several teams in West Indian domestic cricket. He made his first-class debut in 2011, for the Windward Islands, and later appeared for the Combined Campuses, but rose to prominence only in 2016, when he was the leading wicket-taker for the Jamaica Tallawahs in the 2016 Caribbean Premier League.
