DC Talk is a Christian rap and rock trio. The group was formed at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1987 by Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max Smith. They released five major studio albums together: DC Talk (1989), Nu Thang (1990), Free at Last (1992), Jesus Freak (1995), and Supernatural (1998). In 2002, the Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music called DC Talk "the most popular overtly Christian act of all time."

George Mark Paul Stroumboulopoulos is a Canadian media personality. Songs of Freedom is a Canadian performing arts documentary series, which aired on Vision TV in 2015. Starring opera singer Measha Brueggergosman and produced to celebrate Black History Month, the series consisted of a 90-minute live concert special of Brueggergosman performing a program of African-American spiritual songs, followed by a four-part documentary series about Brueggergosman exploring her African heritage. The series' title takes its name from the lyrics of Bob Marley's single, "Redemption Song".
