Gold Ace was by champion sire Bettor's Delight, out of an In The Pocket mare, Hill of Gold. Hill of Gold retired from racing at the age of five, after fracturing her pedal bone. [2]

Racing career

Gold Ace was trained by, and part-owned by Steven Reid. [2] Steven Reid and Graeme Rogerson purchased Gold Ace in 2009 for $27,000. [3]

He was a champion 3-year-old; in 2011 and 2012, he won over NZ$500,000, winning 10 of his 15 races, including the New Zealand Derby. [2]

Gold Ace’s earnings topped $1.2m, with 22 wins in 69 starts. His fastest time for 1600m was 1:51.8, run at the Cambridge Raceway. [3]

Stud career

After retiring from racing in 2015 Gold Ace commenced a stud career at Nevele R Stud in Canterbury. [2] At about the beginning of 2021, God Ace moved to stand at Ross Cameron's property at Coes Ford, south of Christchurch. [4]

Named after the New Zealand international rugby union player, Christian Cullen, he won 22 of his 31 starts, and $NZ1,249,150 in prize money. He is notable in that he won both the Auckland Pacing Cup and New Zealand Trotting Cup races, the richest harness races in New Zealand. A powerful and impressive stallion, he has been particularly successful at stud.

Johnny Globe was an outstanding New Zealand bred Standardbred pacer that held four world records. He is notable in that he won the New Zealand Trotting Cup. Johnny Globe is also notable in winning 15 free for all pacing events, which at the time was a record. He was also a leading New Zealand sire on four occasions.

Lordship was a New Zealand–bred Standardbred pacer. He won two New Zealand Trotting Cup races. He won 45 races and as a leading sire, he sustained the Globe Derby sireline through his successful sons.
