General Sir Arthur William Currie, was a senior officer of the Canadian Army who fought during World War I. He had the unique distinction of starting his military career on the very bottom rung as a pre-war militia gunner before rising through the ranks to become the first Canadian commander of the Canadian Corps. Currie's success was based on his ability to rapidly adapt brigade tactics to the exigencies of trench warfare, using set piece operations and bite-and-hold tactics. He is generally considered to be among the most capable commanders of the Western Front, and one of the finest commanders in Canadian military history.

Philip John Currie is a Canadian palaeontologist and museum curator who helped found the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Drumheller, Alberta and is now a professor at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. In the 1980s, he became the director of the Canada-China Dinosaur Project, the first cooperative palaeontological partnering between China and the West since the Central Asiatic Expeditions in the 1920s, and helped describe some of the first feathered dinosaurs. He is one of the primary editors of the influential Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs, and his areas of expertise include theropods, the origin of birds, and dinosaurian migration patterns and herding behavior. He was one of the models for palaeontologist Alan Grant in the film Jurassic Park.

Gordon Gray Currie was a political figure in Saskatchewan, Canada. He represented Regina Wascana from 1982 to 1986 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Progressive Conservative.
Bert Louis Iannone was a Canadian football player who played for the Calgary Stampeders, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He played from 1939 to 1952. He won the Grey Cup with the Winnipeg Bluebombers in 1939 and with the Calgary Stampeders in 1948 and played in seven grey cup games. He previously played junior football in Winnipeg. He fought in the war for the Royal Canadian Navy from 1940 to 1944. He coached football for Campion College in Regina, the Regina Rams and for Saint Thomas Moore Secondary in Burnaby BC.
