Gautam Buddha Das is the former vice chancellor of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU). President Abdul Hamid appointed him for a second term of fours years which started on 8 December 2018. [1] [2]

Biography

Das was born in Chandpur district, Bangladesh. His mother's name is Sabitri Rani Das. And his father's name is Swadesh Ranjan Das. [3]

Das attended Chandpur Government College. [4] He received an honors degree on animal husbandry from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 1985. In 1986, he received M.Sc. degree on poultry nutrition. And he did his PhD in 2012 from the same university. [3]

On 22 January 2022, Das was awarded the Ekushey Padak, the second most important award for civilians in Bangladesh. [5]

He was the first vice chancellor of BRAC University and former vice chancellor of University of Asia Pacific. He was also the president of Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Committee from 2003. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in the category of science and technology in 2017. He was inducted as a National Professor by the Government of Bangladesh in 2018.

Shamsul Alam is a Bangladeshi economist, and a former State Minister of Planning of Bangladesh from 19 July 2021 until 19 November 2023. He retired as a member and the Senior Secretary of the Bangladesh Planning Commission. He is also one of the syndicate members of Sylhet Agricultural University. In recognition of his contribution in economics, the government of Bangladesh awarded him the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2020. He is the member of Awami league Advisory council.

Jahangir Alam Khan is a Bangladeshi agricultural economist and researcher. He is the incumbent Vice Chancellor of the University of Global Village (UGV). Prior to his appointment in the university, he was the director general of Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI). He also served as a director of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council. In recognition of his contribution in research, the government of Bangladesh awarded him the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2020.
