The clouded leopard, also called mainland clouded leopard, is a wild cat inhabiting dense forests from the foothills of the Himalayas through Northeast India and Bhutan to mainland Southeast Asia into South China. It was first described in 1821 on the basis of a skin of an individual from China. The clouded leopard has large dusky-grey blotches and irregular spots and stripes reminiscent of clouds. Its head-and-body length ranges from 68.6 to 108 cm with a 61 to 91 cm long tail. It uses its tail for balancing when moving in trees and is able to climb down vertical tree trunks head first. It rests in trees during the day and hunts by night on the forest floor.
The Lakes of the Clouds are a set of tarns located at the 5,032 ft (1,534 m) col between Mount Monroe and Mount Washington in the White Mountains of the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The lakes form the source of the Ammonoosuc River, a tributary of the Connecticut River. They are recorded by the Geographic Names Information System as the highest elevation lakes in the United States east of South Dakota.
The McCloud Railway was a class III railroad operated around Mount Shasta, California. It began operations on July 1, 1992, when it took over operations from the McCloud River Railroad. The MCR was incorporated on April 21, 1992.

The Si Phan Don is a riverine archipelago in the Mekong River, Champasak Province in southern Laos. Si Phan Don is part of Khong District, including the islands and part of the mainland in the east. Si Phan Don is dotted with numerous islands, half of which are submerged when the Mekong River is in flood. The principal islands of Si Phan Don are Don Khong, Don Som, Don Det and Don Khon. Si Phan Don borders Cambodia and historical and cultural ties link the people on both side of the border. Pakse is the closest of the bigger cities in Laos to the area.
The Beiping–Hankou Railway Operation was a follow-up to the Battle of Beiping–Tianjin of the Japanese army in North China at the beginning of the 2nd Sino-Japanese War, fought simultaneously with Tianjin–Pukou Railway Operation. The attack was not authorized by the Imperial General Headquarters. The Japanese advanced to the south along the Beiping–Hankou Railway until the Yellow River, capturing Linfen along the way. After the Imperial General Headquarters wrestled control over troops from local commanders, the majority of participating Japanese units were transferred to participate in the concurrent Battle of Taiyuan. These units were replaced by newly formed 108th and 109th divisions.
The Stratford tube crash occurred on 8 April 1953, on the Central line of the London Underground. 12 people died and 46 were injured as a result of a rear-end collision in a tunnel, caused by driver error after a signal failure. This was the worst accident involving trains on the London Underground until the Moorgate tube crash in 1975. A similar accident at exactly the same location, with less serious consequences, occurred in 1946, before the line was open for public traffic; one railwayman died.

Faulder is a railway point located in British Columbia, Canada, situated in a large valley ten kilometers west of the town of Summerland. This is also the end point of the Kettle Valley Steam Railway. Named after Evelyn Robert Faulder, it consists of many large acreages and agricultural farms.
Don Bosco is a locality and rail station in the north-eastern section of the Quilmes Partido. Formerly called "Station of the 13th kilometer", it takes its name from the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco congregations located in Bernal; the same neighbors sought the name change, which was issued on 4 November 1929. The demonym for residents is bosquenses.
White Horse is an unincorporated community in Modoc County, California. It is located on the former Great Northern Railway Hambone Line, off the Bieber Line, that connected with the McCloud River Railroad. 25 miles (40 km) west-northwest of Adin, 0.7 miles (1.1 km) east of Whitehorse Flat Reservoir and 47 miles (76 km) west-southwest of Alturas, at an elevation of 4423 feet.
Hua Lamphong station is a rapid transit station on the Blue Line of the Bangkok MRT in Thailand. It is located underground on Rama IV Road in front of Bangkok railway station, more commonly known locally as "Hua Lamphong", on the former location of Hua Lamphong railway station, the origin of Paknam Railway, the first railway line in Thailand.

Pondosa is an unincorporated community in Siskiyou County, California, United States. Pondosa is 33.5 miles (53.9 km) east-southeast of Mount Shasta, and is located along a former branch line of the McCloud Railway. A post office opened in Pondosa in 1925. The community was named after the ponderosa pine by Elmer E. Hall.

MV Thorco Cloud was a general cargo ship owned by Thorco Projects that sank in the Singapore Strait in December 2015 after a collision with the chemical tanker MV Stolt Commitment. The collision resulted in six casualties from a total crew of 12. The collision caused the ship to split into two parts, which sank approximately 1.85 kilometres (1.15 mi) apart at a depth of 70 metres (230 ft) in the traffic separation scheme of the Singapore Strait, one of the world's busiest shipping lanes. The wreck was removed in 2019.
