Double trap is a shotgun shooting sport, one of the ISSF shooting events. Participants use a shotgun to attempt to break a clay disk flung away from the shooter at high speed.
Shooting sports have been included at every Summer Olympic Games since the birth of the modern Olympic movement at the 1896 Summer Olympics, except at the 1904 and 1928 games.
The 10 metre air pistol is an Olympic shooting event governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF). It is similar to 10 metre air rifle in that it is shot with 4.5 mm caliber air guns at a distance of 10 metres (11 yards), and the programme consists of 60 shots within 75 minutes for men, and 40 shots within 50 minutes for women. If Electronic Scoring System (EST) is not available, additionally 15 minutes for men and 10 minutes for women are added to the time limit. Preparation and sighting time of 15 minutes is the same for both men and women. It is also similar to 50 metre pistol despite the shorter distance and the use of air guns, and most top-level male shooters compete in both events.
Gregory Thomas Yelavich, is a competitive pistol shooter from Auckland, New Zealand. As well as winning numerous national pistol titles, Yelavich has the distinction of having won more Commonwealth Games medals than any other New Zealander (12). He was the New Zealand flag bearer at the closing ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games. He has represented New Zealand at two Olympic Games — Seoul 1988 and Barcelona 1992.

Joshua Richmond is an American male sport shooter who was, at one time, the world's top ranked double trap shooter. He won the ISSF World Shooting Championships in 2010 and 2014, and also has 12 ISSF World Cup medals in the sport. He was favored to win the men's double trap shooting event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, but placed 16th.

Shooting competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo are scheduled to take place from 25 July to 2 August at the Asaka Shooting Range. Unlike in 2016, the number of shooters competing across fifteen different events at these Games has been reduced from 390 to 360, with an equal distribution between men and women. Mehuli Ghosh is an Indian sport shooter. She represents India at international junior shooting championships across the world. Among 123 competitors, she was the only Indian shooting athlete to reach the finals of the 2018 junior shooting competition held in the Czech Republic. She finished in seventh place there. In 2018, at the XXI Commonwealth Games held at Gold Coast, Australia, she won a silver medal in Women's 10m Air Rifle after a shoot-off with Martina Veloso. According to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), she has a world ranking of sixth and third in Asia.
South African Shooting Sport Confederation (SASSCo) formerly known as South African Shooting Sport Federation (SASSF) is the governing body for shooting sports in South Africa. SASSCo is the highest body responsible for the development and promotion of target shooting sports in South Africa. SASSCo is registered with both SASCOC and Sport and Recreation South Africa (SRSA) as the officially recognised overall federation for shooting sports in South Africa, and is also affiliated to the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) and the African Shooting Sport Federation (ASSF).
