Gul-e-Rana is a Pakistani actress and politician, active in the television industry. She is the mother of musician and singer, Asim Azhar. She later joined politics and contested in General Elections 2018. [1] [2] [3]

Personal life

Rana was married but later divorced, from which she has a son Asim Azhar, a singer and an actor. [4] [5]

Career

Rana made her television debut in 2010 with Syed Mohammad Ahmed's Shaista Shaista, [6] after which she appeared in a number of television serials. She is better known for her negative roles, such as Pyar Ke Sadqay , Aakhir Kab Tak and Pyar Deewangi Hai . [4] [7] [8] In 2023, her performance of a blind woman in short Jin Mahal of anthology Teri Meri Kahaniyaan was praised by critics. [9]

Muqaddar is a 2020 Pakistani television series directed by Shehrazade Sheikh. It premiered on Geo Entertainment on 17 February 2020. Teri Meri Kahaniyaan is a 2023 Pakistani anthology film comprising three short films, directed by Nabeel Qureshi, Marina Khan, and Nadeem Baig based on scripts by Ali Abbas Naqvi and Basit Naqvi, Vasay Chaudhary and Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar respectively. The film stars an ensemble cast of Hira Mani, Mani, Ramsha Khan, Sheheryar Munawar, Wahaj Ali, Mehwish Hayat, Zahid Ahmed and Amna Ilyas. The film released on 29 June 2023, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
