The Yusufzai or Yousafzai, also referred to as the Esapzai, or Yusufzai Afghans historically, are one of the largest tribes of ethnic Pashtuns. They are natively based in the northern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to which they migrated to from Kabul during the 16th century, but they are also present in smaller numbers in parts of Afghanistan, including Kunar, Kabul, Kandahar and Farah. Outside of these countries, they can be found in Ghoriwala District Bannu, Balochistan Sibi (Akazai), Chagai (Hassanzai) and Rohilkandh.
The Shinwari is an ethnic Pashtun tribe of Afghanistan. Among the greatest poets of the Pashto language in the 20th century was the late Ameer Hamza Shinwari, also known as "Hamza Baba".

Dir is a region in northwestern Pakistan in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the foothills of the Himalayas. Before the independence of Pakistan, Dir was a princely state, and it remained so until 1969 when it was abolished by a presidential declaration, and the Dir District was created the following year. The area covers 5,280 square kilometres. In 1996 Dir district was officially divided into Lower Dir District and Upper Dir District.
The Turi or Torai are a tribe of the Pashtun people, inhabiting the Kurram Valley, in Kurram Agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan, with a smaller number living across the Durand line in the Paktia province of Afghanistan. They speak Pashto and are adherents of the Twelver Shia sect of Islam. Unlike the majority of Pashtun tribes, The Turis predominantly follow the Shia sect of Islam, because of this and other reasons and land history they are usually tensions between them and the Sunni Pashtun tribes; Mangal and Bangash tribe who also live in Kurram Valley.
The Shirani, also spelled Sherani, are a Pashtun tribe, from the Bettani tribal confederacy, who live in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Sherani are mostly settled in the Frontier Region Dera Ismail Khan, in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan and in the adjoining Sherani District of Balochistan, Pakistan. Some clans have settled in other surrounding districts of Balochistan; and in the Zabul, Ghazni, and Kandahar provinces of Afghanistan.
Dir is a city in Upper Dir District, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan at an elevation of 1420 m. It is sometimes known as Dir Khas to distinguish it from the district. It lies at the foot of the Lowarai Pass, the main motor road to Chitral, on the Dir River, a tributary of the Panjkora River.

Daudzai also Resides in Hilmand and are also living in Kabul, Afghanistan, which is the largest Pashtun tribe living in Kabul for Century.
Ibrahim khail,Ibrahimkhel or Ibrahimkhil‘' (Pashto:ابراهيمخيل) is a major Pashtun tribe, living in places such as Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Jowzjan, Qunduz, Mazar-i-Sharif, Herat, Peshawar, Quetta, Upper Dir Lower Dir, Bajour and some other parts of Pakistan, as well as in a small village of Swat District named Biha near Matta. All the historical references show that the Ibrahimkhel are the descendants of the Ghiljis.
The Khugyani, Khogyani or Khogiani tribe is one of the Karlāṇī tribes of the Pashtun people. The tribe originated in the Khogyani district in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan. The Khogyani District is in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, near the city of Jalalabad and the Kōh-i-Safēd.

The Mandanr, Mandar, or Mandan are a Pashtun tribe, a branch of Yusufzai. They are the children of Mand, who was the son of Umar Baba. Umar Baba was the brother of Yousaf, Umar left the tribe and moved from Kandahar to Hassanabdal. An Arab Quraysh family in Hassanabdal gave their daughter to Omar in marriage. Omar had a son from an Arab girl which they named Mandanr. When Mandanr was one year old, Omar Baba died. Upon hearing the news of his death, Yusuf left Kandahar and went to Hassan Abdal. He took his sister-in-law to Kandahar. According to the Pakhtun tradition, he married the widow of Umar Baba and gave Mandanr his daughter in marriage. That is why Yusufzai and Mandanr are considered one tribe, they are thus a sub tribe of Yousafzai. Mandanr had four sons.Mano, Razar, Khizar and Mehmood.

The Wardak or Wardag are a tribe of the Pashtun people. That mainly live in the Wardak Province of Afghanistan. They migrated to the Wardak province in around 1730. Dara Utmankhel, also known as Shaikhan, is a valley in Lower Dir District, Pakistan. It consists of nine villages: Maniband ما نی بند, Jabaghi جبګۍ, Zara Doghy زړه ډوګۍ, Kot Koshah کوټ کو شاه, Mandal Korona کورونه ماندل, Kot کوټ, Ghwandy غونډئ, Fazal Abad and Shah Kuronu شاه کو رونه. It lies in Timergara tehsil, east of the road from Timergara to Dir. The inhabitants of this area belong to the Mandal, a clan of Utmankhel. The Utmankhel is one of karlanri Pashtun or Afghan tribes, who appeared in concert with other tribes like Yousafzai and Tarkalani.They first settled in the area of Malakand, Bajaur and Mohmand Agency. These people were mainly associated with trade as the land was not suitable for agriculture.
