A winter storm warning is a hazardous weather statement issued by Weather Forecast Offices (WFO) of the National Weather Service (NWS) in the United States to alert the public that a winter storm is occurring or is about to occur in the area, usually within 36 hours of the storm's onset.

The Closing of Winterland is a four-CD live album by the Grateful Dead. It contains the complete concert performed on December 31, 1978. The concert was also released as a two-disc DVD. The title derives from the fact that it was the last concert in San Francisco's Winterland Arena, which was shut down shortly thereafter. The Dead celebrated the closing as an approximately five-hour-long party and invited some guests including guitarist John Cipollina of Quicksilver Messenger Service and Ken Kesey as well as actor Dan Aykroyd who provided the midnight countdown. It was certified Double Platinum by the RIAA on December 15, 2003 under the category of longform video, selling 200,000 units. The New Riders of the Purple Sage and Blues Brothers opened the show.
Satin Doll: Dedicated to Duke Ellington is a solo album by American jazz pianist Hank Jones recorded in 1976 for the Japanese Trio label. The album consists of one side of compositions by Duke Ellington and one of popular big band tunes.
The Woman I Am: The Definitive Collection is a compilation album by Australian-American pop singer Helen Reddy that was released in 2006 by Capitol Records in conjunction with the publication of her autobiography The Woman I Am: A Memoir. Unique to this best-of disc are the live recordings of "The West Wind Circus" and "Mama" from her 1978 concert LP Live in London and the Sunset Boulevard tune "Surrender" from her 1998 album Center Stage.

The Rye Fire was a wildfire that burned in Santa Clarita, California, in the United States, and one of multiple wildfires that broke out across Southern California in December 2017. The fire threatened over 5,000 structures, including Six Flags Magic Mountain, threatened the city of Santa Clarita and impacted traffic on Interstate 5. The Rye Fire burned a total of 6,049 acres (24.48 km2), before it was fully contained on December 12. The fire destroyed six buildings, including minor structures located at the Peter J. Pitchess Detention Center.
