Henderson Park was a baseball park located in Henderson, TX and was the home to many Henderson baseball teams over the course of the facility.[ citation needed ] The remnants of the ballpark still exist and can be viewed behind the ancient middle school at Fair Park Street and South High Street.
Alexander Joys Cartwright Jr. was a founding member of the New York Knickerbockers Base Ball Club in the 1840s. He holds the major league records for career stolen bases, runs, unintentional walks and leadoff home runs. In 2009, he was inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot appearance.

Henderson teams played as members of the Kentucky–Indiana League and Pennyrile League in 1896, Central League in 1897 and Kentucky–Illinois–Tennessee League. Henderson hosted minor league games at Fairgrounds Park.
