Aap Kaa Surroor is a 2007 Indian Hindi romantic thriller film directed by Prashant Chadha and starring singer Himesh Reshammiya in his debut as an actor, alongside Hansika Motwani and Malika Sherawat. Reshammiya has claimed the story is based on his own life and was named after his music album Aap Kaa Surroor. It was shot mostly in Germany and was released on 29 June 2007. Critics panned the film although it turned out to be a super hit of 2007.

Karzzzz is a 2008 Indian film directed by Satish Kaushik. It stars Urmila Matondkar and Himesh Reshammiya. It is a remake of Karz (1980) and also inspired by The Reincarnation of Peter Proud which itself inspired by Indian film Madhumati. The film opened very strongly upon its release, did better business compared to Aap Kaa Surroor, but later became a disaster at the box office due to its high price selling cost estimated Rs 40cr, sold to Reliance Entertainment by T-Series. The hype created upon the film's trailer and Reshammiya's popularity were reasons behind the high price selling cost. This news was confirmed by Reshammiya during a talk show while promoting his film Radio on ETC channel.
